Greenpois0n To Be Released This Sunday!
That's right! The developers behind the newest jailbreak, greenpois0n, have informed the world of it's estimated arrival date of October 10th, 2010.
Developer Joshua Hill, aka p0sixninja, recently tweeted "Things have progressed to the point where we don't expect anymore roadblocks. ETA for greenpois0n is 10/10/10 at 10:10:10AM".
While it's important to remember that this is only an estimated release date and our friend chpwn puts it into decent perspective "Please note that an ETA is, by definition, an estimate. There may still be delays, although we will try for there not to be any." Chpwn has been working with Saurik on improving Cydia, but by the sounds of it, it will not be ready to be released alongside the greenpois0n release, but it will be something else to look forward to after jailbreaking.
It will be important to watch out for fakes in the meantime, and make sure that you follow us here for the release. The servers will more than likely take a huge hit, and hopefully we can arrange something like we did with jailbreakme.com to act as a mirror. Keep your eyes peeled.
While it is not confirmed yet, we are hoping to see an untethered jailbreak for every iDevice currently available, however don't be disappointed if its not yet untethered.
Get your iPods, iPhones, iPads and AppleTV ready for this sundays "funday".

Edit Poseidon: This will only work on the iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch 4G. It does /not/ support any older devices as they do not contain the A4 chip that contains the exploit.

I can't wait!! I really hope it is untethered, and a new Cydia update would be real nice. I think this will be one hell of a jailbreak, after all, all the team etc has been saying it'll be worth the wait! Roll on Sunday!!

Lol I bet they could have it ready on 10/9 but chose 10/10/10 because its an epic date! My time spent on 3.1.3 waiting for greenpois0n will finally pay off soon enough... maybe another month or so waiting for compatibilities though... *sigh*

greenpois0n uses the SHAtter exploit. SHAtter is just the name of the exploid, not the tool. Greenpois0n is the TOOL. Originally Posted by SnowLeo
