"New" iPhones in Apple TV Firmware Not So New
We were pretty excited to find new iPhone product codes in the recently released Apple TV firmware. In addition to "iPhone 3,1" which is the current iPhone 4, there was also iPhone 3,2" and "iPhone 3,3." OMGBBQ! What could they be? Is 3,2 a new Verizon iPhone 4? Is 3,3 an iPhone 5 with shape-shifting liquidmetal mimetic poly-alloy case? The other iPhone bloggers have also been going wild.
And then we came down to earth and realized it's nothing new. Those descriptors have been around since at least iOS 3.2... or as it was known in those wayback days "iPhone OS." Back then it was assumed that iProd 2,1 was going to be a new iPad, though it has turned out to be the very same Apple TV. iPhone 3,2 and 3,3 remain a mystery, as is the new "unknown" entry in firmware. What could this be? A MacBook running iOS? An iWatch?
As always, the best advice is to just wait and see, but that won't stop the speculation. It's human nature…

You can't stop speculation! That's what makes half the news!

"OMGBBQ!" Brilliant. I love that.
They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

So pumped for the future. Though, I bet the liquidmetal alloy isn't going to mean much besides enhanced unibody frames...

There's no way they'd be dropping codes of new iPhone models already would they?? Too early
