iPhone4 use micro chip, people cut the sim card, iPhone5 use Qualcomm / CDMA, finaly apple won but no customer.
Look like Apple frustation on jailbreakers and unlockers.....

Steve Jobs has a jailbroken/unlocked Motorola Dyna-Trac

let's hope first they provide us with the newest jailbreak

I'm betting the next one goes to T-mobile, because if I'm not mistaken the current baseband chip can support their 3G freak but it's disabled at the hardware level. Plus it's gsm. That's my bet. The only thing that sucks about this move is for unlocks, I have no use for an unlock but I don't like it that some folks could be out in the cold.HK-Z™ on Game Center

I am afrid that they might block the baseband whick not updated
09-12-2010, 09:16 PM #51
Hope it brings improved performance

This thread couldn't have gone farther away from the news thread. Boring news = what kind of phone Steve has?!? Really??? Who cares!

i bet steve jobs has an first generation ipod touch running Blackberry OS, using an attachable microphone and a sprint hotspot to do everything over wifi
hes likely referring to the fools that say "first" and the people continuing the inane off topic conversation

Intel knew Infineon would lose Apple as a customer as soon as the ink dried. This isn't surprising. They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

My idea of "restriction" is, say, limiting AVRCP functionalty to Play/Pause/Stop to protect HiFi dock sales, not requiring you to pay for apps.

To clear up some other sh!t you guys are jabbering about, yes this would mean a completely new UNLOCK (not jailbreak) re-write, but will most likely mean Verizon phones are right around the corner, and that this switch would have happened with or without the Intel purchase. Not to mention every unlock is basically a re-write anyway, as a new exploit has to be found.. just like jailbreaking.
All you high school kids who think you know how stuff works should quit with the one-liner sh*tposts and let the big boys discuss.
