For what? Let Apple fix the prox, which they have, and the devs will focus on a jailbreak and a tool. Then, once live, you can upgrade and jailbreak.

For the record, my prox is effed up and I want a fix too. It'd just be a waste of time for them to code a fix and try to sell it, when a fix has already been coded for free.

I have the 4th Generation iPod Touch in my hands at last. 4.1 seems really nice. This is my first 4.x.x device, so I can't say what the differences are.

There is a strange setting in the Accessibility options that turns everything into a negative picture, though, which is kind of interesting.

Hmm... even more interesting is the fact that when I take a screenshot in that mode and send it to myself it converts it back to the proper colors

Those accessibility settings have been around since at least 3.1.

I understand but.... it takes less effore for them to keep doing these retarded update jailbreaks if we can just have the main improvements. I mean the cat and mouse is rediculous. Yea, people who buy their phones with non jailbreakable softwear suffer, but they are going to anyway, they dont jailbreak every single firmware update so, in the meantime, help us with the MAJOR issues.

It's probably wise for iPhone 4, iOS 4.02 users to also avoid this upgrade. If you bought your iPhone 4 too late (or Apple sold you defective hardware and you had to swap it out after the 4.01 signing window. Grrrr....) then right now, anyway you look at it you're stuck in jail. Upgrading to 4.1 might seem like no biggie, but 4.1 means you'll lose the future ability to unlock, unless there's a carrier unlock developed at some point for the new baseband. Even if you're happy with AT&T, what if you have to travel overseas at some point? Are you really prepared to pay the outrageous fees AT&T charge, when you could instead just pop in a local SIM card? If there is ever a JB for 4.1, and if that same JB works for 4.02, iPhone 4 owners on 4.02 might be better off NOT upgrading.

Not so much of a problem for the lucky people(including me ) here in Canada who bought the unlocked version from Apple. However losing JB is still as big of a deal as unlock!!!

If you have that big of an issue with the sensor just upgrade and lose your jailbreak, if it isn't worth losing JB it isn't a big deal.

I just tried updating my iphone4 from 4.0.2 to 4.1 with TinyUmbrella TSS server running and my baseband was upgraded to 02.10.04

Restored it back to 4.0.2 and baseband is back to 01.59.00

Can someone confirm this?

Yes I am sure. Dev team announced no JB will be coming for 4.0.2. And proximity fix alone is worth upgrading. I left my JB for the prox fix.
