I would be suprised if they released a JB right after 4.1 drops. I could see it coming out after say a couple of 4.2 betas are out, given that any JB they have in the works still works on those betas. Honestly the JB is the only thing really holding me back from getting the IP4. But if this "no JB" stuff holds out too long, I'll likely just wait for the IP5 to come out.

All I care to know is how iTunes 10 will affect my jailbreak.

There have already been at least five exploits found in 4.1 (I'm sure I read that somewhere). I can't see them holding off releasing a jailbreak for a major OS upgrade... It isn't like Apple releasing a security patch (4.0.2) and the Dev Team not wanting to release the jailbreak for it for fear of tipping their hand too early with an imminent major upgrade looming.

jailbreak
the thing is if they wait for 4.2 to jailbreak then they will just come out with 4.2.1 so why wait

Odds are good the dev team probably knows at this point if they can utilize an old exploit to jailbreak 4.1.

It's true that any jailbreak will likely be patched with an update, say 4.1.1 or 4.2.1, etc. But with 4.2 having all the fixes 4.1 has but also having updates for the iPad it's possible they could wait two months for 4.2 to be released as it would be backwards compatible with 4.1. Even if Apple did release 4.2.1 (like 4.0.2 was just a patch update) since it doesn't add any features, only those with brand new devices would be out of luck while the majority of iPhone & iPad owners would be perfectly fine with 4.2. Just like if they release 4.1 and 4.1.1 immediately comes out from Apple, they will just say don't update to 4.1.1 as we are not releasing a new jailbreak until 4.2. Obviously, just a guess, I'd rather they not wait two months as well, since I got a new device with 4.0.2 on it.

the Jbers are probably just waiting to see what iTunes 10 does to the jailbreak. Or else theyre drunk. Either way we'll hear soon

OMG I hate announcement days and release days. People ask unanswerable questions and everyone else actually tries to answer them!

God im just happy that this might fix the 3G lag issues!! I only really use my iphone to play games now but the iOS update made it unusable. I dont know how any of you could stand using it as an everyday phone!!

I'm guessing a jb for 4.1 will be out in about two weeks. Dev team wants Bluetooth and proximity fixes too!
