Still laughing at you bunch of whimp crybabies who are going to AT&T and Apple and whimpering, sniffling, double-talking, pleading for them to fix or replace your waranty-less iPhones. All kinds of brave talk about laws to protect you, how you are now victims of Steve Jobs/Apple/AT&T because you have the 'right' to have your unlocked/modded phones repaired or replaced for free, on and on and on.

Especially hilarious was the one hapless chap who is practically going door-to-door from Apple Store to AT&T shop, searching for that one and only deeply warm, sympathetic, understanding, fuzzy wuzzy employee who will give you your warm milk, tell you everthing will be OK and exchange for you a brand new, shrink-wrapped iPhone so you can leave all full of rapture.

Grow up.

Take some personal responsibility and act like an adult, you babies.

We all knew before unlocking/modding an iPhone that the baby was ours the moment we did it (oh, even complete with all kinds of crowing on sites like this). Then, we were TOLD WHAT WE ALREADY KNEW, that our actions would result in invalidating our warranties. Then, APPLE AGAIN clearly warned us that their new firmware would cause us grief if you updated your old old firmware on unlocked/modded iphones. Then, AS APPLE RELEASED THEIR FIRMWARE, THEY CLEARLY STATED BEFORE YOU UPDATED YOUR FIRMWARE AGAIN OF THE CONSEQUENSES. And still again, EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE CARRY NEW OF THE IPHONE FIRMWARE UPGRADE SAID DO NOT DO IT TO MODIFIED PHONES!

Now, crybaby whimp after sulking hacker after jilted modder is here castigating Apple and wearing their newfound victimhood on their sleeve like a badge of courage.

YOU SULKING, VICTIMIZED BABIES MAKE ME SICK. GROW UP, GET A LIFE.

But fear not, mommie will be there soon to stroke your hair and tell you the big bad Apple/Steve Jobs/AT&T bear will go away and you will have your new hack that will allow you to click your ruby red slippers three times and say 'There's no phone like iPhone, There's no phone like iPhone, There's no phone like iPhone" and zap, it will be working again.

Then, you can dry your tears, for your victimhood will be vanquished for a yet another round sure to come when 1.2 firmware is released.

In the mean time, careful not to spill hot coffee in your crouch when you drop by a McDonalds' drive-in window. But hey, wait, one lady won millions and millions of dollars after her whimpering and claim of victimhood.

Good luck trying to get any money from Apple.

Yeah, they are a devil company...giving you 100 bucks when one of you pussies bitched and moaned about a price change.
Wow. Nothing like a kid with a few years of highschool giving legal advice on the intarweb. Sorry chief, here's a little free B-Law 101; if a warranty disclaimer is "unconscionable", conflicts with state "lemon laws", or violates the Magnuson-Moss Act then it is invalid. Just because you sign a piece of paper (or click an "accept" button) that says you're giving up your rights doesn't make it so.

@ Michael Larkin... As much as I want to disagree with your post I can't. A bit harsh in my opinion, yet maybe necessary. People were warned numerous times by numerous people and even by apple themselves.

But I must disagree to a point. I personally know 2 people who bought iphones after seeing my themes and apps, and apples thanks to them was "nope you don't get to use those"

Seems like a stupid move by apple in my opinion.

In a way i agree, people should not complain that they now have bricks, I have one currently, but i understood the risks involved with the unlocking and mods, its no ones fault but mine, and im just going to wait until the Dev Team comes up with a method to bring it back from the dead. Until then iPod Shuffle and my old flip phone.

3. Customer reports iPhone will not work after upgrading to the new firmware (tethering and accepting a software update).
There are several non modded phones doing this. That reasoning will get a manager in some pain for those that are innocent of modding.

Wow. They really did it. I can't believe apple. Forgive me but I am new to this whole high tech thing, and I love it. I just bought my first computer. Then I bought my Iphone last week. The day I got my phone I figured out how to mod it thanks to youtube. Then I unlocked it and installed and am still installing as many apps. as I possiblly can. I must say though that apple did warn us iphone users a couple of times. Now what? I'm not even going to hook mine up to itunes anymore till this is all figured out. But, I am going to keep downloading those apps. God I love this phone. I do have a silly question though. Does this firmware effect people who stayed with AT&T, or those who changed there sim cards? Now don't download the new firmware people. Oh and you what's Jailbreak people rock!

I cant put into words, how extremely upset I am with Apple over this.

Are they getting that petty now? I understand if they restore your phone to the original settings, plus adding the 1.1.1 update, which would prevent you from unlocking it again, but pretty much kicking people out because they unlocked their phones?

I haven't even unlocked my phone but I'm still outraged at this injustice. I hope they DO get sued.

Well I updated mine without any problems what so ever and it was modded with all the apps that everyone else has. The question I have is that how did most of the people try to update their phone? Did they do it with os x or with windows? I restored mine to 1.0.2 and then restored to 1.1.1 with my ibook and had no problems at all.

****, just lost all my contacts because i had to restore.
its ok though i guess, i knew there was a risk involved..

just think of it like this guys,
were either

1) updating, and back to square-one until someone finds a way to mod again
2) not updating and keeping all our amazing apps that everyone has worked so hard for.

its pretty irritating losing all my contacts,
but the ability to give apple more money anywhere
near a wifi connection is pretty sweet.

just dont stop updating and dont stop modding,
we want control over what we can and cannot do with our phones.
this means war apple.

I just call 1-800-MY-IPHONE and they are sending me a loaner and having me send my phone back. If they don't fix it it's only $1 service fee and I get to keep the loaner as mine. You don't really lose anything because all your info is synced on the computer...win win situation.
