Thread: MMi's Staff Picks: Our Most Used Apps List

  1. #41
    Infinifolders sounds very interesting.

  2. #42
People are so greedy when it comes to piracy...it's always the same thing...they talk about it,knowing it's against forum rules...then when staff says something they get all wet crying...why must we ignore forum rules because ur proud of not paying for apps? Having apps that promote piracy doesn't make you "the man"...people let's start following forum rules and not mention said apps...

Back to topic , my staff app list is:

    Irealsms
    iFile
    Sbsettings
    MyWi 4.0
    3G unrestrictor
    Backgrounder
    Winterboard

"Coming in at second place, for the most common app found on the MMi Staff's iDevices, is WiFi Sync" once again, wording fail, this is actually 3rd in the list

RDM+, Remote, Opera, Photobucket, Twitteriffic, Flixster, Fandango, Dictionary.com, Holy Bible, Pandora's Box, aNote, White Noise, gym boss, FaceBook, Shazam, 360Live, Slide to Play (gamefinder), Sleep Cycle,
Funambol ---> in the process of switching to gmail sync

games don't count. Play em, use chronus to save game, and delete! Eliminate Pro lasted a long time on my 3GS tho... I loved to hate that game! lol!

WiFi sync?DAMN the pay must be good @ MMI.How often do you guys/gals sync? I like the lists of the members mostly cause they use them everyday(who doesn't use Winterboard,SBSettings,BiteSMS,Backgrounder)every single day.So who pays $9.99 for WiFiSync when all you have to do is plug in and sync,it takes all of 10 secs.

PS I PAID for the app. Also BiteSMS is by far the best app which should be on the list, or iRealSMS.
BiteSMS works fine for for me with just texts...but are you able to send pictures in texts with BiteSMS? I've never been able to with any of the quick reply SMS apps and because of that have just gone with one...

A one time payment of $20 is cheap in comparison to the carrier's plan. If I cared about tethering I would gladly pay for the app. However, with a price tag of 10x that of the average app/modification it's just asking to be pirated. Companies (and developers) need to realize that they would make more money if they sold their software for less. Photoshop is an example. $650 is ridicules. No wonder it gets pirated so much.

Once again, paying 20 bucks one time to tether is great then paying a monthly...if you didn't care much for tethering then you wouldn't complain about it's price nor come up with theories of how things get pirated due to price...I payed my 20 for mywi and I'm enjoying typing this on my iPad , which I don't have to pay monthly for on neither device....

This is where I have to say you are 100% wrong. Being in the software industry, and communities like this for a long time now, I have seen how it pans out. No matter what the price tag, if it is going to be pirated, it will be. You should never cut your price tag short because you feel it will be pirated. A person that gets cracked applications, games, movies, etc... will do just that no matter what. Look at the price on AppStore apps, mostly under $5, but we have more cracked apps out there than you could possibly count. Pirating illegal wares is a mentality. It's like putting a lock on a gate ... It is only going to keep an honest man out.
