I share the frustration on this one... such a great concept being able to control my iphone while it's in my pocket, but the screen resolution just destroys it's useful purpose.
Anyone have any other ideas on this one? It's been 2 months since iPhone 4 came out and Veency hasn't been updated and i don't see any others out there that'll VNC serve on the iphone 4's resolution. :-(

Here's what I did to get it to work. Simply turn ON the remote cursor and turn off the local cursor. Then you see where the pointer really is on the iPhone 4. It's not perfect and there will be a brief moment of disorientation as you move your cursor from your desktop into the VNC client window. Still, it works.
I am using TightVNC Portable 1.3 over WiFi with:
Use 8 bit color
Scale by 50%
Track Remote Cursor Locally
No Local Cursor
I am still hoping that Saurik will update this as well as some of his other apps but no one knows for sure. He has not answered any tweets on the subject so far.

Hi, I work offshore and I'm not allowed to bring my phone to work. Big problem for me - I can't check my calls and text messages when I go to work. I thought veency could be a solution, but I only manage to connect to my iphone if computer and iphone are connected to the same wireless network. Is it possible to veency into my iphone while connected to another network?

Someone told me I should enter the wireless router and forward the correct (5900?) port to my iPhone, then I could connect to it from an outside network using the ip-adress of the router. Well, turned out I had an additional problem: I am living on a school dormitory and have no access to the server, so I could not do this (at least couldn't get it working).
BUT I solved it, not in a very elegant way but hey, it's working! Thought I should post it here to help out someone else..
I set up an old computer to be permanently connected to the same wireless router as my iPhone. Through this computer I can remotely control my iPhone through veency. Then I remotely control this computer through teamviewer, from any pc connected to internet. Of course, I had to set the old computer to never enter sleep mode.

Can anyone on 4.1 try out veency and see if these problems happen to yall..
1. When in a app the multitasking don't work, it shows the apps but you can't click on them.
2. some notification pop ups don't let you click on them like ''cancel or ok'' ones, while others are clickable.
These problems happen to me on iPod touch 4G.

I'm also not able to connect using mywi like it was suggested in the original thread. I can only connect if I'm on a wireless network.
Any suggestions getting mywi 4.0 to work so I don't have to connect to a wireless network? When I set up mywi I try to connect to the ip mywi gives me but connection fails every time.
