Chronic, quick question if you still have the new firmware to play around:
When you send an e-mail through the mail app, does it still break sentences?
Like for example, if I were to type this very sentence as an e-mail on the phone it would look like this:
Like for example, if I were to type this
very sentence as an e-mail on the
phone it would look like this
because of the size/resolution of the screen. However, when the e-mail itself is sent, it sends the text just as it looks so instead of getting a sentence you end up receiving a bunch of lines just like it looks above. This is really annoying and I've had some people reply to me back asking why I'm breaking sentences at random spots.
I would love to know if this has been addressed in the latest firmware.
(PS: I'm running 1.1.4 vanilla in case this is only happening to me for some freak reason)

Sorry, but that was a boring video and this looks like a boring update. And why did it say it was jailbroken when installer wasn't on the home screen?
Seriously, I don't use exchange, I only use the calculator for basic math, I don't get more than 10-15 emails a day...why do I care about anything in this new firmware?

the passcode is turned off until he activates the parental controls, otherwise turning them on is useless. when he went to turn them off he had to type in his passcode to have access. seems pretty obvious...
In order to activate via iTunes, apple has to have flagged your account as 1.2 eligible, otherwise it will not activate.- Unknown - at one point his camera flashes over his monitor and UH OH Windows. I know this is not saying much, considering the firmware could get to any one
- Why is it in the dark?? Hiding something
- 3:29 - YouTube does not work - you have to connect it to iTunes first. WAIT didn't you have to connect it to iTunes to get it on there??? Yikes

This update looks as exciting as watching paint dry.
Are Apple deliberately trying to p1ss people off by ignoring what people need most (copy and paste, I've needed this for the longest while) and adding useless features (a new calculator) that we need least? Pathetic, to be truly honest. No two ways about it.
(Email deletion is good, but still, we need copy and paste more than we want multiple delete)
This comes out in June. Imagine when the next "significant" (if you dare call it that) update comes out, where we can hope for something useful: September? October? Later? And I bet that if things in the future are as uneventful and restricted as they are now, well updating will become more of a chore than an enjoyment.
So far, I see that Apple have had this trend of general disappointment in update releases, and its no different now, they just told us earlier than ususal.Last edited by dale1v; 03-18-2008 at 01:05 AM.

nothing spectacular, no real advancement. i'll probably stick to 1.1.4 til some major improvements take place.

These upgrades will be a blessing for SOME, key word SOME! I'm sure more people in the world will think copy and paste is a blessing.. not some stupid calculator. Didn't Steve Jobs say he has been listening to everyone problems before releasing this piece of crap? Steve Jobs, listen up... COPY AND PASTE!!!!!!

1.2 Release
For those who had the chance to play with the 1.2 release:
did you find the "new location logging feature" that tracks and stores the device’s physical location based on cell tower and WiFi longitude/latitude data? It seems that it possible to see not only where you are, but also where you’ve been.
I quote a sample location log from iPhone Atlas:
LOCATION,Time,227256578.75,Type,GMM,Pos,1,+33.1179 50,-96.775681,Accuracy,1810,Confidence,,ActualLocation ,0,MCC,310,MNC,410,LAC,0xcb29,CI,0×29ba,ARFCN,,BSI C,,RSSI,-78,TA,, 227256578.754-virtual void CellLocationRequester::requestCompleted(): queried for 7 cells but received only 1 responses
LOCATION,Time,227256582.90,Type,CL-Skyhook,Pos,1,+33.098492,-96.781595,Accuracy, 191.86,
LOCATION,Time,227256582.90,Type,CL,Pos,1,+33.11795 0,-96.775681,Accuracy,1810.00,
Is it true ?

I don't understand why if this is a beta software the Devteam wont relased this, to other dev that really want to develop for iphone 2.0 and don't have the, the software, do they really expect apple not to tweak the final version of 2.0? it will! they always do so all this keeping the software or OS just for them seen a bit selfish for me and other developers.

THAT is the real 2.0. Lots more screenshots and features show. Sorry bro, but I called it on your video. What happen to your iTunes?? Seems like a messed up version of your firmware.Chris 'cWanja' Wanja

No, this is the real 2.0. That is a later build that I have not yet acquired, and I'm pretty pissed that they showed it off because now that Apple knows that it's out they'll fix any way we try to jailbreak it...
Messed up version? That's retarded. Please explain how I integrated things like Parental Controls and I changed the baseband then...short answer is, you can't.Last edited by King Chronic; 03-18-2008 at 12:44 PM.

King, no disrespect to you or DevTeam (because really, i do have a lot). But the thought that Apple is going to close holes if you guys let this into the wild is BEYOND paranoia ...
Let it out, let the community enjoy - build more apps - more love.
This is getting beyond paranoid .... starting to remind me of Travis Bickle in 'TaxiDriver'
Much love and respect,

I don't like the divide between the 'devteam' and the iphone user community. if apple patches the holes before the final release, who cares? they are going to eventually patch it anyway, I don't see the issue. I just want my damn exchange support.
