A software issue? Well hurry up and release 4.0.1!
Apple needs to announce a public release date of the 4.0.1 firmware update. Because the faster they come out with this update, the more will be clarified as to weather the upload speeds and the antenna problem are really a software issue. Think Different.

Lately my upload speeds have been unreliable, but my upload speeds continue to be 5 times faster than my 3GS.

I get two very different speeds using different apps... I tried this a couple different times and the "Xtreme SpeedTest" was higher by far every time.
Speedtest.net app gave me 1536 down / 240 up
"Xtreme SpeedTest" App gave me 2420 down / 244 up
that was in the exact same spot, 1 min later... wtf
But not much better on my AT&T home Internet

Central PA, 3G - 2,123 d/l and 103 u/l.
Best numbers were 3,408 u/l and 980 u/l on 6/29/2010

Still slow in Westchester Cnty, NY & North NJ. Only got 521d/l and 99u/l this morning. Even that d/l is unusually slow for this areas.
Best I've seen is 2,765d/l and 1,623u/l on 6/30/2010.

I haven't seen any problems with 3G upload speeds here in the Ukiah area in Northwestern California. I average 1200-1500 up.

"they say "impacts less than two percent" of all AT&T customers"
two percent of AT&T customers is millions and if it's only uploads why are so many people reporting it .I don't drink kool-Aid, I don't join cults.
This is why I break out in cold sweat going to Apple retail store.
