For the guy that said he diesnt understand why everyone needs these speeds on mobiles and he only has a 768kbps connection at home and is okay with it- I'm afraid your opinion is by far in the minority. I have a 16mb connection and it can be too slow on occasion. (Sorry I didn't feel like testing my exact speeds)

Mine were 728and 928 . I never checked it without wifi previously, so I'm not sure what my digits were on my 2nd most anticipated waiting day for apple though. But just to clarify my location..... "Go Cowboys"!!!

You haven't done any compairison shopping lately then. The only network here that has better prices than anyone else is Tmo. They have to be cheaper because their network is tiny. Verizon may have a 'bigger' 3G network, but most of their speeds are a little better than AT&T Edge speeds. I have tried them all, including Sprint, due to my job. The only network that works everywhere for me is AT&T.
It will always be like that. No matter what ISP you use.Last edited by CaptainChaos; 07-07-2010 at 07:34 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I drove up I5 from OR to the top of WA today and did speed tests along the way. Seems to have been capped at 100kbps in Portland, Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle, and Everett. Thanks ATT.
--To those arguing why anyone would need 1mbps uploads? Well, I made some nice videos with my 4G this weekend and was trying to upload movies made with iMovie. Try uploading a 2min movie in 720P through pixelpipe with 100kbps...Last edited by farfromovin; 07-07-2010 at 08:35 PM.

Considering that's more of a loophole than intended use, I wouldn't use it as an argument. iMovie and the Camera app compress anything to standard def when you upload to YouTube/elsewhere for a reason. 2 minute movie would be around 150mb. Upload it from a laptop/pc once you're home, I doubt you absolutely NEED to upload said video on the go.
