Lok at all the Apple employee's in this thread. Whew..... First a public lie, then sending the minions to the largest iPhone site to defend in the threads and play devils advocate. (unusually high amount of advocates in this thread? Sure is...)

You beter not shout, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why....... Steve's B.S. is bringing ......him down.

    Was that so hard?

I like how people are such haters on the iPhone and how they have to find something wrong with it, no matter what. But when they fix the "signal" problems what are they going to find wrong with it next?

Yeah see if you talk to someone else it is much more satisfying than emailing yourself, even if you are steve jobs.

I'd probably email myself if I were steve jobs....... "hey, screwed that one up didn't I?"

See, but if everything checks out with that, it will be fine. but what they did was check each IP ,each single line, so either someone ****** up, or its a real email.

The only reason they are saying it is a fake is as follows:
The entire Steve Jobs email story… It’s real Boy Genius Report

And while Apple has mostly dealt with rumors and erroneous reports by largely ignoring them, the Cupertino-based tech giant has done something rather unprecedented. It's calling out a media source that published false information.

Recently, BGR published an alleged email correspondence between an angry iPhone 4 customer and Apple CEO Steve Jobs. In the email exchange, Jobs responded to the harsh criticisms with terse, condescending remarks like: "You are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down." Within a short period of time, these comments from Steve Jobs exploded across the web and were taken as fact.

The only problem is that an Apple spokesperson is explicitly addressing the story, which was first covered by BGR. According to Fortune, "Asked on the record whether Steve Jobs was the author of any of these statements, a top Apple spokesman emphatically denied it." Implying that BGR is basically reporting false information, the Apple spokesperson wanted to be clear - Steve Jobs didn't make the comments or draft the email that circulated around the web at lightning speed.

Of course, it should be noted that the published email, while alleged to be fake, isn't necessarily the brainchild of BGR. In fact, there are hoaxsters just as there are hackers, and they get a thrill by convincing the big boys in print and online media to lend coverage to their fabricated stories. What's more, it's a safe bet that most readers, including our savvy readership at MMi, take every rumored email from Steve Jobs with a grain of salt - a practice that now more than ever warrants continuing.
This is another great example of why you are the most disliked member of the MMI staff. If you're going to try and report something do a thorough job and try even just a slight bit of research. BG shot back after Apple's allegations and that was still 13 hrs before you posted this piece.

Combine your obsession with writing about pointless rumors with the fact that you have no clue how to research/investigate anything and it's amazing they still allow you to write articles for the site.

Here's a quick list of pointers for improvement:

If the headline of your article ends with a question mark, go ahead and delete the article. There are too many rumors posted on here as it is.

Google makes researching/investigating things like this very very simple.

Hell, even by just following like 7 tech related twitter accounts you would learn more than enough information to boost the quality of your articles 10 fold.

How's apple going to fix this BP situation? I mean there were people who stood in line for days for this phone, only to get a piece of half-way working crap. Nobody wants to buy a expensive phone, with a expensive bill, and get a poor service. Its bad enough unlimited plans are plugged, Apple and AT&T needs to just find a solution and bring back the unlimited plan, and stop BS'ing loyal paying customers!

This is coming from a die hard 3g and 3gs and possibly iphone 4 iphone lover:

i never post on this site. but lol @ everyone saying how fake it is. i believe it is 100% real. apple as a company are complete douche bags to start with. then on top of that they put out a phone with a known defect and then deny the defect even exists. if it was fake, why would they attack this single article? out of all the rumors and other nonsense posted, they pick this one to attack? i think that helps confirm its validity.

What I think you and a number of other people fail to realize is that it is widely believed Steve isn't the only person at apple that has access to this email account. THere's more than likely a select group of customer relations people who also have access to it to help take care of the emails.
