Froyo Unlocked on the iPhone 3G via ultrasn0w
Sergio McFly, the developer of Android installer iPhodroid, an appication that assists in installing the iDroid port that planetbeing had developed which allowed Android on the 2G and 3G, has recently announced that Froyo can now be unlocked by using the recent ultrasn0w unlock tool. BlueRise's new OpeniBoot is to credit for this as he managed to port ultrasn0w compatiblity into it.
"Wohooooo!! For the first time I've got my 3G ultrasn0w running Android Froyo UNLOCKED!. Many thanks to bluerise to make this possible. He just ported the ultasn0w into the new OpeniBoot. It took a long time to me to figure out and embed into the IPHODROID. Now, its time to make labs with 2G phone but Im in a rush to put this new release in the air and feel the people so happy to making calls everywhere"

This is what they're doing instead of working on unlocking iPhone 4!?

I haven't followed this since the 3G port was released. Have they done a 3GS port yet? Is iPhodroid Mac only?

Awesome job. Android on the iPhone used to be a wet dream, and now not only have we had it, but it's unlocked too?! Beautiful.
Froyo on the iPhone 4 would be so sick though... So sick...

And FYI none of the jailbreak teams are included on this.

Take your whining over to twitter and talk to the iPhone Dev Team, Comex and Notcom and leave these guys alone. I don't see you working on a jailbreak for iPhone 4 either... you know why? Because Sergio McFly, planetbeing and BlueRise are no more involved in that process then you are, sitting at your desk and wasting our time.
And for those that think this is in PLACE of iOS4, you also need to get a clue and do some research. Openiboot is a multiboot... so I have both iOS4 and Android at the same time, and I choose which to start at bootup. I have had Android on my iPhone 3G for a few months now, and outside of certain major issues that won't allow me to use Android as a daily use phone, as it drains the battery in 30 minutes, but that will be resolved... this is nothing new, but it is about time that they have it unlocked and running the latest build, while before they were running the older Android versions.
The point is, HTC is pushing all of its android phones, and the fact is, why would someone buy an android phone, when they can get an iPhone and have the best of both worlds, so do not see this article as a break from iOS4, but as giving iPhone users more options to prove it is a better phone.
