AT&T Will Begin Selling iPhone 4 on June 29

According to the above video, AT&T won't begin selling iPhone 4s at their retail stores until June 29. The spokeshipster "Daniel" says that AT&T's "top priority in our stores is to take care of our customers who ordered an iPhone 4 and requested it be delivered to an AT&T store."

And presumably, this will take 5 days. Fun.

Our insider passed a customer service bulletin to us on the inventory issue:

AT&T is on-track to deliver iPhone 4 to customers who preordered the device on June 15, 2010 in direct channels and will have limited inventory in participating local dealer locations. We look forward to offering iPhone 4 to all other customers beginning Tuesday, June 29, 2010, when it goes on sale in all AT&T sales channels. Review the "iPhone 4 Launch Day Customer Experience" document under related links.

Dealer Exchange Process: iPhone 4 will begin arriving this week in participating local dealer locations with limited inventory. This is a result of limited availability of devices during this time of extraordinary demand. Dealers should continue to support the dealer exchange Process, notifying customers as soon as devices are available.
Retail purchase: Participating local dealer locations will have iPhone 4 inventory available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last on June 29 in retail locations. If out of stock, please let customers know inventory will be shipped to the store regularly and they should check back often. Please continue to ensure you are supporting those existing customers with the dealer exchange process as necessary.

This sucks. By the way, it seems like Apple stopped signing 3.1.3 firmware for 3GS phones as of last night. I tried on several phones and computers to upgrade/restore with 3194 and 3014 errors. Anyone have this problem also?

a day at work for thursday ... And if i go to the apple
store , where i have one RESERVED for thursday
and i still dont get my hands on my iphone 4
i will cancel my contract ... Im so tierd of gettin pulled

Don't worry, Apple has a special line for the people who reserved one at the stores. If you're like me, who planned to wait 4-5 hours before 7 AM in front of the AT&T store, the only choice left is to wait at around 10-11 PM the night before in front of your local apple store, that's what I will be doing as it is my only choice and hope left.

How is Apple's supply issue AT&T's fault? I know Apple is God the Father and Steve Jobs is his son Jesus on this board but seriously? Why do the authors of these posts insist on blaming AT&T for Apple's issues?

AT&T didn't underestimate iPhone demand. They don't make the iPhone, Apple does. If you're having service issues like dropped calls, b!tch about AT&T. But NONE of this iPhone shortage/confusion is AT&T's fault.

Apple grossly underestimated iPad demand and still can't get them in-stock for any period of time. They've done it again with the iPhone. Leave AT&T out of this.

There are plenty of people that can afford the iPhone. At least 600,000 people actually. So saying nobody cares is very false. It should be more like you don't care.
