The 1gen iPhone and the iPhone 3G have the same amount of ram, so it should work.

I'm not sure but i doubt it the multitask and all those features are interwoven in the OS so doubt u can just turn part of it off. But once the jb is released feel free to post and let us know how it goes. I personally wouldnt attempt it

Confused by those with unlocked OS4 already, especially on the 3G?

In order to install ultrasnow you need a jailbroken phone but there is no jailbreak for 4 yet!

Not sure I buy this. He said official updates would be given through twitter. Hope it's true, but I wouldn't trust it. Could be someone acting as him.

Just in case, if you upgrade to 4.0 and you have spirit installed, this is how you get out of recovery mode, goto a windows pc and download itunes 9.1.1, then do an offical restore, since itunes 9.1.1 only goes up to 3.1.3 it will work, then it will restore your device to 3.1.3, then your set to install 4.0 because spirit is now off your device also, make sure you uninstall wifi sync from your computer, it causes ios4 to hang while updating and you have to do this whole thing again

You pushed upgrade. which is a common Mistake.

If you restore and select 4.0 (like your supposed to when jailbroken)
you will have no problems.

I had read that the iPod Touch 2nd Gen will also get the 4.0 update, but WILL NOT get the multitasking. The iPod Touch 1G will not be able to install 4.0 at all.

I have a freakin headache...I updated to IOS4 as soon as it came out..Now I'm in the middle of downgrading back to 3.1.3 and downgrading iTunes back to 9.1 so that I can unlock my 3G...By the end of the day I should be a expert at this sh*t..I want the unlock ASAP cuz I'm selling it ASAP..

So I have an iPhone 3GS on 3.1.3, and it's stuck at the emergency call screen, and is foreign to the united states so at&t sims won't activate it. Is there a jailbreak out now that will hacktivate it so I can unlock it and be happy again?
