Because you can jailbreak an iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G which I believe then can be unlocked using apps in cydia, and you might be able to jailbreak, idk about unlock bc we have new bootroms in the new 3GS's, they changed them randomly during their sales. Though I'm sure the DevTeam is working with the new bootrom, as it should be assumed it could be used in iPhone 4.

Quit asking why we need to disable 3G. Seriously, I'm getting annoyed.
T-Mobile USA does NOT support the iPhone's 3G bands, so unless you want to waste battery, turn it off. You have always had to do this. This is nothing new.

Im in 3.1.3 jailbreak with Spirit and I download ultrasn0w tp see if it works... and it does... BUT, the internet does not want to work, Im using my brother's sim from T-Mobile, he have a Blackberry, is that causing the problem????? Cause I hear T-Mobile have the Blackberry data plan, dont know cause I have never use T-Mobile, if someone knows how to fix this please let me know, Im planning on selling my 3G to him but that is the only thing stoping the transaction :P

T-mobile is not the only reason to disable the 3G. I am unlocked with Simple mobile and it works awesome. If anyone is looking for an alternative to AT&T and t-mobile, Simple is is the way to go.just last week they updated their plans to 60 bucks unlimited everything and 50 for 1g Internet, 40 if you don't want Internet. Yes, edge is slow but that's what we started with on the 1st iPhone.
I am not affiliated with Simple Mobile, I just dig the plans and AT&T sucks with their nickel and dimming you for everything. Shoot I used to pay about 250 for unlimited everything with AT&T and now I save big bucks. I am even able to pay for myfi with verizon for my 3G anywhere service (great for the wifi iPad).
Keep up the awesome works devs, can't wait for both iPhone 4 ios 4.

Thanks in advance!

Blacberry plan is not compatible with the iPhone. Just contact t-mobile and have them cancel the BB plan and give you unlimited PDA internet plan.
