Jailbreaking & Unlocking iOS 4 : What You Should Know

Ok so I need some help since it's been a while since I last did a jailbreak on my phone. I have (2) iPhones both 3g with the 3.1 firmware. One is running on 5.11.07 and the other on 4.26.08

I am wanting to unlock/jailbreak them and wanting to know the easiest way to do this? Should I find an unlock/jailbreak for the 3.1 or should I upgrade to the 4.0? Is there an unlock for the 4.0 yet. Also, please please please show me a link with step by step instructions as I am not very savy with all the lingo.

Brett, how did you get multitasking working for the 3G on iOS 4? Apple specifically states that multitasking is not an available feature on the 3G.

im okay with the speed, others are not, it will be a personal preference. There is slow down and some lag but it is usuable in my opinion and i like the features enough to keep it on

i UNDERSTAND IT CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH A MAC AN PAWNAGE...

After upgraded 3G to iOS4 it works but slower than of os 3.1.2 and some applications run sluggish and sometime does not exe, and return to home screen twice and third time iPhone restarts...

So please suggest should I downgrade back to OS 3.1.2 if so pls help, guide and steps...and now the Modem FW 05.13.04

Yea, iOS4 is buggy, and laggy... it needs work... So I downgraded to 3.1.2 and am happy using categories, and backgrounder... and still have plenty of memory free...

Btw, anyone else noticed the memory leak in safari on iOS4?
