iPhone 4 Buyers Getting Shipment Status Updates

After what has, at times, felt like day after day of negative news, there's finally a morsel of positive information to report this weekend. Amidst a barrage of headlines chronicling the supply shortfalls, security failures, and preorder meltdowns that have plagued Apple, AT&T, and the iPhone 4 itself, we can now point to a sign of progress.

Beginning Friday and into the early morning hours of Saturday, many iPhone 4 buyers began to see a change in the shipment status of their orders. These individuals, however, were among the first to successfully have their preorders placed (and not subsequently rejected or voided) on June 15th just as preorders began being accepted.

The iPhone 4 customers we're hearing from have seen their order status change from from "Not Yet Shipped" to "Prepared for Shipment." This comes as an overwhelmingly positive sign to many iPhone 4 buyers who had begun worrying if June 24th would still bring with it the delivery of their long-awaited iPhone 4. As it stands, June 24th remains the official launch day with only some folks likely to receive their devices late - as in the 25th. It is widely expected that those who preordered latest on June 15th could see their deliveries come one day after the formal product roll out.

As reported earlier on MMi, last Tuesday's preorder kick-off saw initial iPhone 4 sales that were 10 times higher than the first day of preordering for the iPhone 3GS last year. On June 15th alone, better than 600,000 iPhone 4s were preordered.

Wow thats a crap load of iPhones Sold. I hope to get one the launch day by waiting in line.

what do you think, when will the rest of Europe get iPhone4, after USA, Germany, Japan, UK and France? is there any list or something?

just checked I ordered one on the 15th 30 minutes after preorders started that one says not yet shipped. The other one I preordered late on the 15th at 3:25 pst says preparing for shipment. Mind u apple as taken payment immediately after preordering and I recieved confirmation emails within minutes or preordering for both devices.

mine says prepared for shipment; i'm so hype to already get it. i ordered at 4:00am as soon as the store went live in the east coast.

Faaaaaaack still no email I ordered mine from the AT&T store on the 16th and all I get whe I check my status is "in progress"

For apple I go to apple dot com then I go to store then
account then order status and it's right there. But for AT&T i'm not sure maybe log into your account and check order status if possible.

I'm confused here, When will I get my iPhone? I hate AT&T!
One says I ordered on the 15th and the other says the 16th. I hope this doesn't mean I won't get my iPhone until the 2nd. Or even the 25th.

it's probabyly because one got processed on the 15th and the other didn't till the next day. I'm thinking you should recieve it no longer then the 25th. Did AT&T take out money for the phones already.
