samething here.. had to order from ATT due to apple site going down 15 mins after it went live with pre orders.
I called att a few times since then and they confirmed that all is set for 24th
they have NOT billed me yet from what I can tell.. though im not sure..
the Status shows that i placed the order on the 15th and it says "in progress"
that might be ATT lingo for "getting ready to ship"?

Then I bet that's the problem. My bank put a hold on my cc because apple tried to take out for both iPhones right after another so my cc thought it was stolen so I called my bank they cleared apple for payment and both orders went through and so did my payments.

Good to hear.
@brokentwice But what if you go here: https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status# What does it say?

Man this sucks *****... I ordered my phone @ 6:00 am on the 15th and it reads the 16th on my order...!
F this, this is why AT&T has such a bad rap!!! If my iPhone does not show up on the 24th, it's going on eBay and I'm headed back to Tmobile...!

I have one question...I wasn't able to pre-order on Tuesday :'( ...so would it be best for me to order on apple's website (AT&T.com won't let you do anything) for the July 14th ship date (I really don't want to wait that long and my birthday is July 2nd) or could I try to get to my local AT&T, Wal-mart, Best Buy or RadioShack store as early as possible and wait in line on launch day? In other words which option would be best to secure an iPhone 4 without headaches and as early as possible?

I havnt received the email from ATT but I checked online and it now says processing.
06-19-2010, 05:02 AM #35
where do people see that it's processing on AT&T's website, @dashercsm, did you do it as a business order, where does it say processing?

How are you guys getting to that second screen on AT&T?
06-19-2010, 05:13 AM #37
Why would you order from Apple? They open the phone and activate it before you even get it. Not sure about you but I want mine sealed...that's why I ordered from AT&T.

Well, I'm one of the few, the proud, the less than 200 puertorricans that were able to preorder the iPhone4. :-) So if I get it before August it'll be a miracle; this country sucks!
My order says: In Progress, so I better see an update before next week...or I'll start crying (lol). Just in case I'll get my beach chair ready and I'll get to the mall early Thursday morning, praying for the iPhone to get here that day.
The funny thing about this is that on the 15th the system was flat on the floor and the employees told us to go home and try again later. I called them that evening and the system was still down. The next morning I called them yet again and the guy told me that he thought the system was back up but no one had tried to preorder an iPhone yet. So I had to run off work and get to the mall through traffic and the unbearable heat...and to my surprise i was the second person to preorder...SO I'm SUPPOSED to get one by the 24th...but again, this country sucks...

Both of my pre-orders through Apple.com now show "prepared for shipment."
