These i[devices] are looking more and more like a full-fledged computer every day and not a toy to be locked down with massive Apple and carrier restrictions.

Here we go again ....... Let me count the ways ... (haha
Restore to factory shipped software, internet connection required for any factory restore. The whole activation process. The list goes on and on.
This IS a computer. This is almost my primary computer. Haha. I use the iPhone computing aspects 5x more than on my personal computer.
I would never buy a computer with any of these artificially imposed Apple restrictions -- and neither would most others.
It's time for Apple and the world to wake up and treat this iDevice like it really is. But then again, I'm not an Apple fanboy either.
And did I mention expandability? Apple could double or tripple their iDevice revenue with real USB host access.
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, acts like a duck .........

@redcard: You're missing the whole point. These iDevices could replace a computer ... absolutely... if Apple didn't artifically impose restrictions.
It the all-mighty dollar that keep Apple from releasing the iDevice and allow it's full potential to come to life.
Money is like power .. And absolute power corrupts.
@igrays... funny but so true.
My 1st computer had 4KB memory with a 5MB disk and cost almost $15K. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay for it
And weighed 75kg !!!
