[EXCLUSIVE] iPhone 4 ONLY in Black Initially

Another of our AT&T sources has let us know AT&T's latest iPhone 4 release info.

Apparently (see above image emailed to AT&T employees) the iPhone 4 will ONLY be available in black for pre-orders and launch. The initial lineup will be the 3G[S] in 8GB, and the black iPhone 4 at 16GB and 32GB.

The white 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 will be available "later this summer."

iPhone 4 pre-orders being tomorrow (specific time has not been announced, but the iPad started being available on apple.com around 3-4AM PST when it was available for pre-order).

Of course this is only through AT&T, but it doesn't seem Apple would short-change their partner in distributing the devices - no official word from Apple on the release of the iPhone 4 yet other than what we've already released - launch the 24th, pre-order the 15th.

Looks like maybe their production warehouses didn't get those white ones done in time. Either that, or only enough for Apple themselves to sell.

Total crap if its true! I'm already a bit upset that If I order with at&t I can't pick it up at 7am on the 24th. The press release says you can't pick it up until Friday the 25th, but my local store says I can pick it up the EVENING of the 24th!

Sounds like you just need to stand inline if you want a phone ASAP on the 24th.

I'm going to have it shipped to my home this time. I don't exactly live in the city, so usually the shipping trucks show up LATE in the day. Plus, since our at&t is in a fairly small city, I usually end up standing with the same people every year, kinda cool to meet up with them each time.

i like white bc of the fact that fingerprints r hard to see. black just looks better with the fact that u csn tell finger smuges all over. but id go with black anytime.

Well, before you get all annoyed, why don't you check with Apple/Wal-Mart/BestBuy/Radioshack? I mean this notice was for AT&T pre-orders only, but does not mean it will be the same for the other 4 vendors.

I'm really torn between the colors. I've always had the white ones, but the all white one here looks terrible I think. The not showing fingerprints, as someone said, is a plus. But it looks terrible with a white front. Decisions, decisions.

BULL CRAP!!!!! Why can't they just offer everything at once! I hate this! All my friends and I have white ones and now we will all have to wait to buy them!! FU APPLE!!! put out a something great and now you can't even offer all colors!! FU!! I am going to write to the company right now!!!
