How Much Will The 4th Generation iPhone Cost?

A prominent industry analyst is taking a swing at what the new iPhone will cost when Apple formally introduces the 4th generation version of the popular handset at the company's 2010 WWDC in early June. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster is predicting that Apple will roll out a 32GB model of the 4th gen iPhone at $199 and a 64GB model for $299.
While few other industry analysts have formally weighed in on the estimated cost of the new device, these estimates (which are on par with the current prices of the 16GB and 32GB models of the iPhone 3GS) are certainly in line with most Apple fans and prospective 4th gen iPhone buyers are expecting.
Munster also sees in his crystal ball that the new iPhone will hit the marketplace shortly after its June 7th introduction and possibly be available by the end of next month. Although the Piper Jaffray analyst will likely be close to his target estimates with both the pricing and release information for the new handset, Munster isn't necessarily proposing any suggestions that haven't already been floating about the rumor mill.
Overall, since the infamous lost/stolen iPhone fiasco earlier this year, few secrets have remained about the attributes the 4th generation iPhone will boast. But notwithstanding the lack of mystery, hype remains greater than ever for the updated iPhone's big reveal, likely on tap for Apple CEO Steve Jobs' keynote address at the World Wide Developer Conference, scheduled to begin June 7th in San Francisco.

I think that the hunger for this new phone will push anyone over the edge and buy, no matter the cost.

Those have been the prices the last couple of years.
It would be nice if they offered a 16GB version for $100.

What about being able to buy it without having an AT&T contract? Any rumors on that front?

If 64g really is $300 then ya, I'll jump all over that. I went with the cheaper model on my iPhone 3g because the price difference for 8gig extra was stupid. But $100 for an extra 32 gig is worth it.
