Guess Who's Going to Kick Off WWDC on June 7TH?

Talk about bringing out the big guns for the start of the show!
Apple announced today that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will begin Monday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. PST with a keynote address by CEO Steve Jobs. During his presentation, it is widely expected that Jobs will unveil the 4th generation iPhone. If so, he will have a sizable audience of developers in his midst. According to this morning's press release from Apple, this year’s WWDC sold out in record time. It took only eight days for some 5,000 developers to gobble up every seat in the house.
admin edit: including ours. Make sure you're checking in here that day - we'll be covering the keynote live from San Francisco!
This year's event will mark Steve Jobs' return to the WWDC stage, as the Apple head honcho was out on medical leave during the '09 conference. Next month, however, Jobs will not have to pass the exciting responsibility of rolling out a new iPhone to a colleague. Instead, he gets to run the show himself this time. As you may recall, it was Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook who introduced an upgraded model of the iPhone at the previous event.
Adding further excitement to the conference this year are the planned sessions on tap for WWDC 2010. They include: Application Frameworks; Internet & Web; Graphics & Media; Developer Tools; and Core OS. During the five-day event (June 7 - June 11) Apple engineers will serve up better than 100 solutions-oriented technical sessions and labs in order to give an "incredibly diverse community the opportunity to connect with thousands of fellow iPhone, iPad and Mac developers from around the world."

I really hope he's gonna whip out the new iPhone, I've been sitting on the edge of my seat since the prototype showed up :P

I really can't imagine anything worthwhile enough coming to the 5th gen iPhone, if they make one next year. I think the 4g will be the one that breaks my continuous upgrade cycle.
