Yes, we know. Japan is ahead of the rest of the world by a good five years when it comes to almost any tech. Such is the way of things when you have such a wealthy country with such a small land mass (compared to say, the USA). That doesn't make this coming to the US any less exciting. We are not talking about this being a new invention. We are talking about this being brought to the masses outside of Japan. I remember a time when I was younger when debit cards were a new thing. I am sure that had been a mainstream thing in Japan possibly before I was born. We did catch up though and people seem to use nothing else these days.
