Musclenerd recently showed iPhone OS 4.0 jailbroken. While he didn't show any method or speak of one, the shots showed 4.0 busted into.



Now, geohot just tweeted an image of iPhone OS 4.0 (notice the Game Center icon) with blackra!n and Cydia both there as well.

Looks like he's got blackra!n already working for 4.0! The jailbreaks are coming fast and furious lately...

Anyone can answer if that 4.0 OS will fix Iphones 3Gs 3.1.2 new boot rom from the infamous boot loop? I've got a new Iphone that I can't use since I got it.

There are 3 different untethered jailbreak solutions that have been previewed for the new bootrom. The new official jailbreak will be untethered. Unofficial jailbreaks for beta firmwares will most likely be tethered.

If i add up all the new exploits in the past couple of weeks we should soon be seeing :

4.0 untethered jailbreak , regardless of model type or bootrom ?


Or could Apple have new hardware on the 4GHD that renders all these new exploits useless ?

The iPad jailbreak exploit will most likely work on the new iPhone unless they patch it.

It seems there are a lot of videos and pictures of jailbreaks and unlocks for the IPhone lately but I have yet to see any real proof. I have seen some youtube videos but if you notice they do not show the modem baseband version and on another video they do not show the bottom of the IPhone so you can not tell if it's tethered or not. I don't mean to be skeptical but show some real proof. Also if this can be done then where is the jailbreak and unlock for 3.1.3 with the latest baseband and bootloader? I really hope they prove me wrong though.

Actually no one has shown an unlock for 3.1.3 which is pointless b/c 4.0 updates the baseband again. There have been 3 videos that prove a 3.1.3 untethered new bootrom jailbreak however.
