iPhoneOS 4.0 Finally To Be Revealed Thursday

At long last, the elusive, highly-rumored-about iPhone OS 4.0 is to be unveiled this Thursday at 10 AM PST (1 PM EST). Apple has sent out invitations to various media sources about the keynote, so you can expect many Apple liveblogs, like Gizmodo, Engadget, and MacRumors to cover the event as it unfolds.

If you've been around the iPhone scene since last year, you'll remember that Apple surprised quite a few of us with some features we began to think may never hit the iPhone, like copy/paste, MMS, and stereo Bluetooth. Could multitasking be that big ball-drop this year? We'll just have to find out!

Sounds good to me, I think if aple had any brains they would include some sort of multitasking and hopefully flash but between the two the fist is far more likely.

They said that flash is just not meant to run on the iPhone. It would be incredibly slow. Perhaps with flash cs5 the export to ipa feature will be the only way to accomplish flash, but no sign of natively running it with safari

The fact they are annoucing iPhone 4.0 so soon has brought my expectations of the iPhone 4G WAY down. If they are going to release the new OS so soon without announcements of the new hardware; then I doubt the 4G will be as substantial of a hardware upgrade as we hoped it would be...

On the other hand, the 4.0 announcement could be a way to push the sales of the remaining stock UNTIL 4G.

Eithe way, I feel bittersweet about this.

Steve himself said that 3.2 will not hit iPhone/iPod touch. It is exclusive to iPad. The next iPhone update (unless there's some MASSIVE bug/exploit brought to light) will be 4.0.
