Yeah, so many of the "watch this and/or that for free" apps from Cydia have left quite a sour taste in my mouth. Most have been gimmicky, and how many apps do we really need for Family Guy/South Park & The Simpsons? I wouldn't mind a solid Hulu app, but not iHulu.
Hopefully it will at least end up in Cydia.

1. You have to be jailbroken.
2. Not a wide variety.

There are just so many video and audio containers and formats, testing is amazingly hard , and upnp and to a lesser extent bonjour are not the most stable libraries. And network letancy is a issue you have to get around.
Than there's the issue of seek , what good is a player if you can't rewind or forward the video. We finally had a break through on that the other day.
We are targeting mid summer, it could be done sooner if we can find someone with some good developers to helo us. We made some inquiries and that may be the case.
Ideally we would like to submit to the app approval process by the end of April.
There is a beta test app on the ffmpeg4iphone site, but without the backend server it takes a lot of work to get videos into the player to use. you have to run a script of some sort to get the urls off your server. We test a lot with eyeconnect, tversity and playon. Playon gives the best features and performance.
The actual app is fully dlna compliant, but that piece is not 100% done yet.
More recent pictures of the ui.

$10 a month a little too steep giving AT&T's reception poor quality. Video streaming have for video quality. There is a lot apps in cydia that allow you to watch tv shows. Hulu should allow you to download this video shows. That would make it a better investment
