Sounds like Opera is ready for a fight when Apple rejects it on the basis that it doesn't use webkit. Surprised Opera is so confident that Apple "should" approve it. Once rejected we will see Opera available in Cydia within two months time

Opera does appear fairly confident that this will get approved. Either that or they are looking to fight Apple for it.
I can't wait to get my hands on this thing, but I'm also curious to see the fallout from a rejection. My gut tells me this will end up in "approval limbo" like Google Voice.

the only thing i hate about Safari is that the bars take up too much space/ no full screen browsing.

I'd like to actually get my hands on it to see how much faster it actually is, usually these tests seem kinda biased/rigged in favor of the browser their for. But who knows, maybe it is that much better.

well i opened safari along side of opera, to the same page. and the scrolling jitter is quite noticeable with opera. it looks like its missing a few frames, as you scroll. really kind of jarring. overall im not displeased. just wish i could get rid of that jitter. adding bookmarks isnt as easy as safari either

Im curious to see how this works with 3G. Why wouldn't they show it with 3G in the demo video?

Because 3GS is the newest hardware. Wouldn't Apple try to shoot this down because "duplicates process" excuse they gave others trying to make an app Apple provides stock.

Scroll on the desktop version is smooth for me. Unlike Firefox where the scroll stops if your pointer hits an embedded video Opera scroll is very nice. I didn't change any settings either. Sure you got the latest version?
