Can the iPhone Cure Acne?

I don't want to leave a "blemish" on the tech-centric tone of these forums, but a lot of people are talking about the iPhone these days as a potential treatment for all sorts of medical ailments, including acne. Although the application that started this discussion was released months ago, only recently have media outlets and iPhone users taken a good look at AcneApp, which was created by a Texas dermatologist who apparently thinks the iPhone is the technological equivalent of Clearasil.
As you can imagine, the AcneApp utilizes red and blue lights to ward off pimples and promote healthy, vibrant skin. Citing "studies showed that light treatments were almost twice as effective as benzoyl peroxide," the AcneApp is worth noting not because it's going to rid the world of acne, but because it speaks to a massively tangible movement in app development - the health and wellness movement.A study published by the British Journal of Dermatology showed blue and red light treatments eliminated p-acne bacteria (a major cause of acne) and reduces skin blemishes by 76%.
The iPhone is now perceived as a vital instrument in our arsenal of tools that promote general health and well-being. From diet and exercise apps to this acne-fighting software, the App Store is slowly but surely becoming a digital health food store of sorts. And it doesn't appear that the trend will relent any time soon.
Of course, separating the legitimate apps from the snake-oil gimmicks is a debate left for someone smarter and more medicinally knowledgeable than myself. But the fact remains: iPhone and iPod Touch applications have now become prominent fixtures in the worlds of science, medicine, and even psychology. And given the runaway success (at least in terms of PR value) of apps like AcneApp it's a safe bet that we're bound to see enough health applications in the near future to literally make us sick.

I don't think this would work well. Mobile phones are extremely dirty items and pushing them against your skin is not smart. I would have to do some serious wiping of the phone before doing this. But I do think this dev will make tons and tons of cash

I heard they are developing an app that cures STDs.
The user (a male in this case) will have to open the app before he reaches full erection and he will be presented with this image:

nice the iphone gets rid of acne. We will soon see a study showing how the ache app has cause skin cancer due to log exposure to microwaves from holding the phone to your face for long hours.

LOL, some people will buy anything. This reminds me of the mosquito repellant app. I tried it out for kicks. My backyard is loaded with them. Anyway if I held my iPhone within about 3 inches they flew away, but just placing it your pocket didn't work at all.
People will buy anything. Dam I should make a app that promises happiness or maybe better sleep. I can find a few doctors to "document" that the high frequency music the app emits relaxes people. Market a second app specially for babies as mommies can't spend on enough on their children.
BTW, whatever happened to just popping all the puss out??I thought my carrier was bad til I got a new web host
