02-01-2010, 10:22 AM #22Just thought I would point out a typo there. "and let you test them to any number...". I think you mean text.gpsSMS is a simple application that will grab your GPS coordinates and let you test them to any number you wish.

Am I crazy or something because rather than the gpsSMS application the standard iPhone maps application would tell you where you are by pressing the bottom left button and then selecting directions and putting the start point as current location and the end point as the destination and this would get you out of dodge if you were lost so no need to send an sms to ask someone who may or may not know how to get you out of there anyway.
Waste of a text message if you ask me.Last edited by mwr_allen; 02-01-2010 at 10:52 AM.

I emailed the developer of gpsSMS with a suggestion and he said he'll put it in the next release: turning the coordinates into a google maps link for you iPhone-toting friends to simply tap to view. (This is how good developers work: they take their consumers' advice!)

mmk guys, the point of this app is to give you GPS COORDINATES, which the Maps app does not do. This is useful for people like geocachers. (Google it.)
That's not to say we don't have better implementations already.. but telling someone Lat/Long of a location is much simpler and more precise than telling them landmarks and cross-streets on Google Maps.

-instead of gpsSMS. try heyWAY or echoECHO or G.maps or TOMtom.
-activator has made all my gesture control requests come alive.
-shake to open seems like a security breach waiting to happen.
-Rocks filter function is pretty sweet. i used to not like it when they switched their interface from the original GUI to the one they have now. just because of all the added info coming from CYdia. so the filter function comes quite handy. i use Rock for Rock, CYdia for CYdia and never the twain shall meet. well unless there's an app on CYdia that i can trial first on Rock. CYdia really needs to get on board with this function.killall Terminal[]

Yeah I had the same problem. Cerebro is different than MobileMe or FindMyI in that it is constantly tracking you. If you open up the settings for Cerebro you can see how many seconds it waits between updates. Just jack this up to whatever you see reasonable. I bumped mine up to get updates only about once or twice a day. My idea is that if my phone isn't stolen or lost, then there is no need for short tracking intervals.
My battery now is back to normal, and if I need to track my phone I'll just bump up the intervals online.
