Apple Tablet Confirmed! iPhone OS Based! Will Be Announced Tomorrow!

McGraw-Hill CEO, has confirmed that Apple will be announcing a Tablet tomorrow, which will be iPhone OS Based. There is no denying this one. Straight from the man himself. Here's video to prove it.

"Yeah, Very exciting. Yes, they'll make their announcement tomorrow on this one. We have worked with Apple for quite a while. And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now is we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format on that one. So now with the tablet you're going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific."

am i the only one disappointed that its going to run the iphoneos? i mean, its great for a phone, but i'd want a computer just as functional as my macbook if its going to be approaching the macbook's size..

I have faith in the jailbreaking / hacking community that someone will make it possible to run Leopard

lol It seems inevitable... that is if the hardware specs are up to par.

Could be iPhone OS based because the hardware required to run it is cheaper, making for a lower sale price... hmmmm can't wait!

Great that it's finally released to the public (info).

I just wish that there was a full Mac OS version. (or at least an option.) I've already got an iPhone. Why should I buy a bigger one?

I would think that all the technology behind this piece of hardware probably deserves better hardware, but why would apple choose an OS that doesn't do it any justice and wouldn't they have spies out and about joing forums and stuff to find out what the people want and don't want? Not unless the tablet simply can't run the leopard OS well due to cost cutbacks on the hardware front?

Well at least now we know eh!

yep I already set up a forum over at insanelymac and hackint0sh and sent emails to the dev team to set up a project to "jailbreakintosh" and install the proper os on the tablet- Snow Leopard. I myself am extremely upset and disappointed about the poor choice of OS. Anyone interested in the project please PM me and get every1 you can to help out cause its gonna take a lot to get the jailbreak dev team to work with insanelymac and hackint0sh together in order to hack snow leopard on this machine like it deserves to have. I would seem obvious that the hardware is compatible with an OSx86 10.6 install considering it is from apple so the wifi bluetooth and such should be compatible but new drivers will have to be made for the new ARM Cortex A9. Of course, then it will require a lot of work on the dev teams side to find the exploits and allow the current bootloader software to be installed (or maybe a whole new piece of software) onto the iPad. Please PM if your interested.

I think an iPhone OS 4.0 will be released as there was no 3.2 back in November or around then and there's competetion from the Nexus One now. Apple need to up their game.

No. This is like New Coke, an executive team's idea of a brilliant decision. Only Apple fanboys will bend over for this. A super-sized iPhone. Jeez. Apple's version of a WindowsCE device.

The fact that it runs iPhone OS will probably keep me away from it. Very disappointing. I'm sure it will have better specs than some laptops. The only reason I'd get it is if it's going to save me hundred on college books...It would have to be a huge difference against paper versions,
