DAMMIT! I deleted all the packages in /root/private/var/lib/apt/lists/ except for the partial subfolder and that fixed the problem for a bit. Came back but decided to restore anyway to 3.1.2 and currently waiting on my music to sync. Damn I wish this was out earlier! Oh well, at least I'm on the most current firmware even though it really doesn't make a difference.

Well what i did was used Diskaid as instructed at top of this discussion and deleted "cydia.zodttd-1.com_repo_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages" and installed the update to Cydia Installer through Rock and started Cydia and Cydia stared and loaded up. Thanks for the info. Worked great.

that guy does everything in his videos improperly. for instance: he doesnt show what the path is from root which will cause alot of confusion if people's clients dont start them out at /var/root. The cracked app thing is meh.
i wonder if he did that video based on my instructions
