I think everyone is getting too personal about this.
You made your choices based on some parameters.
OK, there are clones or iphone-wannabes out there...
So, let's see what they can do.
Competition is a good thing.
Apple needs to know that they shouldn't rest on their apple!

That's the problem. I don't think they do.
There is still nothing to touch the iPhone. Android and Maemo may be good OS and getting better, but look at the hardware. Until they get the minimalist HW of the iPhone they are of no interest to me and lots of others.
People are getting bored of the iPhone but that's it. There is still nothing else that I would consider. Apple are far more likely to just add a few more features to the 3GS for the next gen (3GSi?) than do anything that will knock us out.
I hope I'm wrong. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

That's like saying Windows, OSX, and some distros of Linux have "bootleg similarities" in their look and feel. How about many web browsers? I don't see vastly huge mind bending differences between IE, Firefox, or Safari in their presentation to the user... Apple did things like swipe, drag, etc. that just makes sense for a touch screen device. Even the Windows Surface uses similar functionality and it is far from a phone. Using features that other devices use does not make it a clone. I would like to see someone call a Ferrari a clone of a Ford Model T. True, they are both cars, and the Ferrari came along much later than the Ford, but a clone? I think not.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

To be honest the only things that the Android does that the iPhone can't do is:
Flash
Using the status bar as a gateway to other apps and as a notification bar
Google turn by turn
Everything else is pretty much the same - as long as you jailbreak. So put that stuff up against the best App Store on the market and then make your choice.
I'm a modder and a gamer... the Apple App store provides the best hand held games, and you guys provide the coolest mods. There lies my decision.
