Pandora is great, does having 6 billion half assed copy cats of it make the phone better?
I can do without the apps of pornstars in bikinis and imitations of T-pain clogging up the App store. You're right having some apps is great, but more isn't always better.

Im done arguing. Take the two side by side and compare how much you can do with each and come to your own conclusion.

haha that was quick! Lol at DROID
12-10-2009, 09:35 AM #25
it does widgets (cant have that on the iphone unless you jailbreak), the OS is open source, i can change my background to something other than black, screen is 10x better, dont need to jailbreak to do just about everything, how about the ability to change my battery if it dies huh? cant do that without taking the iphone apart and sacrificing a chicken in the process
now what the iphone does have over the droid is better GUI, wider support of products, sleeker design, virtual keyboard is better IMO, multi-touch which is on the droid but disabled except for overseas and certain apps because motorola is afraid apple will sue them because they claim to have come out with it first or something.
the droid is definitely not an iphone killer, in fact i doubt there will ever be an iphone killer. the only thing that will kill the iphone is apple

Tried it after submerging my 3GS in ince tea last week. Didnt knwo the iphone would survive. It did and though i liked the Droid there were a couiple apps i couldnt live without. No Sirius and no Slingplayer were dealbreakers for me. The hard keyboard wasnt impressive either.

Does the droid have a music player as good as the iPhone's IPT?
Does the droid have half the apps the iPhone does?
Does the droid have a cydia store on TOP of the app store?
The droid has an actual keyboard, but its so ******* flimsy.
Second, you're arguing about apps when the App Store has been out since 2008 with media hype all over the place so of course it's going to have more apps, you're just trying to throw together random arguments against the Droid, another moot point.
Third, Cydia ISN'T on top of the App Store, get your facts straight.
And lastly, I haven't handled a Droid myself but I have heard that the keyboard can be a little lackluster so there might be an argument behind that.
The droids advertising claims that it isnt as attractive as the iPhone, but it's fast. The 3GS is just as fast.. so what does that leave the droid with? Being ugly.
The droid is comparable to a BlackBerry. Only I'd take the BBTour over the droid any day.
Can you sync the droid to iTunes? I'm not sure, but I highly doubt it.
The droid can't do half, a quarter, probably even less than that, of what the iPhone can.
I would stop being an apple humper, but they release the best products. You get what you pay for. Apple > Windows. Always, forever.
OS X > Windows 7?
Windows 7 < OS X?
$1k Windows 7 build > $2k Mac Pro (with same parts)
Happy flaming, and disregard any typos, grammatical errors, or missing words, I'll be damned if I'm proof-reading this post

I always found it pretty lolful that the Droid commercials are always crazy about how fast Verizon's 3G is, and then you've got a news article like this: Engadget Labs: The best mobile data carrier in America -- Engadget

Geeze you guys... a news article comes out about the Droid on an iPhone site and an all out war starts.
There are ups and downs to each phone. I like quite a few of the features that the android OS does natively.
I personally choose the iPhone because
1. The Apple App store may have more shovelware than anyone else but they also have superior applications and games
2. The iPhone has THE best hacking community when it comes to smartphones.
Pretty much everything that Apple left out, jailbreaking covers. When it all comes down to it, its all about units sold. The iPhone dominates the market right now.
I have seen exactly 2 Palm Pre's and 1 Android phone in the real world. And by real world I mean outside of a store... being used by someone. Everyone else either has a Motorola Razor or an iPhone.
The iPhone has the majority of the market. So there is going to be better support. You can make a phone that is a super-computer, but if it doesn't have any support then it is useless.
JMO, and everyone is entitled to their own.

"Additionally, a successful hack also means you can gain access to widgets and skins that would ordinarily be "off-limits" to the Droid."
I thought the great thing about Android was it was open source so anyone could add to it.
"Needless to say, unlocking will probably void your warranty and might put you in violation of the carrier's terms of service agreement."
I think they might want to check out the Supreme Court ruling...
T-Mobile and AT&T fought the lawsuit all the way to the nationís high court. The two carriers, on the GSM network, are accused of unfair business practices by locking down their phones to their service plans. Last year, Librarian of Congress James H. Billington listed cell phone unlocking as one of six new exemptions to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or DMCA.I don't drink kool-Aid, I don't join cults.
This is why I break out in cold sweat going to Apple retail store.

1. This isn't an iPhone and has no place here.
2. This is old news. If you insist on reporting off topic stories, at least do them when they break and have the slightest shred of relevance.

If the iPhone comes to verizon ill switch back to the phone.. until then, I am really happy with the droid.
I pull around 2.5 mbps on my droid... 800kb on the iPhone 3Gs. So for me, not in the same league network wise.
