All I want to do is have a wallpaper and a better font lol is that too much to ask to be able to customize my phone..and i have t-mobile, so too bad for apple..because of jailbreaking, I bought many iphones, and have not put down my phone since i got it, and I even bought a mac computer after using windows for the past 13 years..(whenever 95 came out lol) and haven't touched my windows pc since I got the mac..So apple needs to give it up already and make it open source and just better protect the apps from being cracked..
If I was any help, please hit the thanks button...

instead of trying to stop jailbreaking, Apple should embrace it !! If I was in charge at Apple, I would try to understand WHY people jailbreak their devices in the first place and simple add to the next firmware the things users want. whats wrong with wanting themes on your phone? whats wrong with widgets on your lockscreen? why cant we have (VERY POPULAR) apps that were rejected by the app store?
Apple is a tyrant. they spend lots of money trashing MS but file lawsuits against other carriers who trash the iDont phone.| Desktop: Windows 7 | Phone: iPhone 4 & Galaxy S II | Tablet: Galaxy Tab 10.1 |

To be honest, this type of crap is what makes me glad that Bill Gates ripped off Steve Jobs of his Operating System. Can you imagine if Apple was in Microsoft's position today? it would probably be frightening.

If the the Dev Team cannot JB any new update they (apple) come up with, just don't update. No update they come up with (most likely in the near future anyway) will convience me to update if I cannot JB my phone...What they're going to offer me something that I cannot get through a JB app anyway?

I tried that, I stuck with 3.0 firm ware with some hacks for tethering, but I bought a new computer and installed Itunes which was 9 now, I had no idea the Steve and his cronies put a secret Kill file on Itunes 9 for tethering, it messed up my settings on my Iphone even. I had reinstalled the darn thing 3 times before I found an article to explain the secret file in Itunes 9.
My opinion of Apple dropped with this.
I used Blackrain3 to jailbreak and unlock and put tethering back in ( AT&T is evil BTW I pay an extra 30 a month for internet I should be able to tether to do some surfing on the laptop! I pay for it Darn it!) But that was the only thing that saved tethering for me, Jailbreaking.
to Me this is control issue with Steve.
And money
30 extra a month for Iphone and internet if you want to tether another $10 to $20 a month why? Because they can thats why, But I contend paying for something twice is criminal.Last edited by DRFP; 11-07-2009 at 01:05 PM.

Well, then I'd be glad to get a phone with better reception, better voice quality and a speakerphone that actually works well enough to be heard outside of a library.
This is so absurd and paranoid. I've enjoyed Macs since the 80s but I'd be glad to dump my jailbroken (T-Mo) iPhone.
btw, I buy all my apps through the app store and don't have any "stolen" apps on there, so up yours, Apple. Your finger-pointing is lame.

Right,
First can you tell me what stolen Apps I have? I'm not aware of any?
An Iphone is not a Mac, what right does Apple have to put a secret file in Itunes 9 to change my Iphone? This is America right? Apple is not perfect and can do wrong or are we supposed to worship them? LOL
I have no idea what this means? I like Macs but hate Iphones? What are you trying to say? This is a forum dedicated to "Moding" So why are you here?I've enjoyed Macs since the 80s but I'd be glad to dump my jailbroken (T-Mo) iPhone.

All apple has to prove is that jailbreak is illegal. Most of people will stop jailbreaking if they believe it breaks the law. Apple will never ever stop jailbreaking technically, because there are lot of people who smarter than apple's engineers out there; Dev Team and Geohot are only some of them. Jailbreaking is like an idea of getting rid off the unfreedom and unfairness.

Hey I like the Iphone, Steve Jobs on the other hand is the reason Apple has problems, I can like a product like Iphone and Ipod and not worship Apple Jeez..................
Jailbreaking the Iphone gives us a more useful device.
Right, and how is Jailbreaking illegal?
It's my phone, I'm adding products that are free or I buy not hacked, I unlocked the phone which is legal ( no way its not) so
Its just Steve Jobs trying to control us and his profits the way I see it. Screw him!

Here too
Plus I spent 10 hours putting tethering back on my I phone and carrier file back one over 3 times, the last time I did not even start Itunes and as soon as I connected my Iphone to my computer to test tethering the carrier file was automatically altered. Tethering was gone.
Now since jailbreaked it has not happened again, I think this is due to not being locked to At&T too.
So yes Itunes 9 is the problem
SO for At&T US customers you have to jailbreak and unlock to insure that Itunes 9 will not reset the carrier file.Last edited by DRFP; 11-07-2009 at 07:16 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Personally, I became so disgusted with the "carrier file swapping" method which Apple/ATT will continue messing with, so I bought MyWi, a modest $10.00. Regardless of the carrier file it enables tethering through USB, Bluetooth AND Wifi. Done.
Something that comes from way back when, regarding Apple and it's hardware. For years their hardware came with the "potential" for doing much more than the advertised features or capabilities. I remember when the PPC processor was introduced. The first few machines with the 601 processor were running at 50-60 mhz, while their demo machines exibited the 120 mhz speed but not the production models. This was because there were no apps developed yet to take advantage of the speeds, so no need to overclock. And they kept this same model of business to ensure more customer satisfaction. Us geeks want the fastest and greatest, the majority of the marketplace just wants the basics to work smoothly.
Same with the iPhone. We can multi-task (albeit through j'braking) but this can also bring the device to a screeching halt if overdone, like most of us are likely to do. Check other devices, Droid included according to late reports. They all suffer from the same. If Apple offered multi-tasking through it's native OS and the device crashed a few times, we'd be all up in arms saying they suck. These are all business decisions, we need to understand the concept of business better to understand why decisions are made. Who cares to have the most features if they are not stable in daily use? It has nothing to do with Steve Jobs being possesed by the Devil or Apple being an evil empire. Has everything to do with being a smart business company. Apple stock was trading around 5 points in the 90's. Check where it's at now. Just saying...Last edited by metaserph; 11-08-2009 at 10:34 AM.

That is such a lame excuse. I have a 3G and it's never crashed when multitasking, besides the 3G S is fully capable of running multiple apps at once. That's no excuse. Other way less capable devices can run apps in the background. Apple is just overbearing. I don't see how replacing the home screen wallpaper will cause device instability either or poor customer satisfaction.

Lovely

Not
