That's a lot of apps. But more apps are doing the same thing. For example there are 10+ apps for twitter and facebooks.

The mass's want quantity when they can get quality at a fair price. The intelligent prefer quality over quantity, therefore Cydia over, but not instead of the App Store

i think 100,000+ apps is sort of ridiculous, they should take out the 70,000 that are completely terrible and have no downloads.

they should have filters that start deleting apps that show inactive downloads after a long period of time....that will clean up the garbage...but i bet they could care less about the garbage they have...as long as they can claim "Over 100,000 apps and going" lOL

Just one more reason why many app developers for the iPhone develope for jail-broken iPhones, instead of itunes' app store.

This is an email i received from G***.****e app support:
[names disguised]

Quote:
Hi,

We have solved the reflow problem you were referring to. It was a bug in G***R****r. The fix will be released with the nearest update.

However, please read the following very important news about updating.

!!!
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT USB FILE TRANSFER.
!!!
PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY!!!
Recently Apple has contacted us about our USB file transfer feature explaining how this feature violates a number of Apple's rules. They insist on instant removal of USB file transfer feature from G***R****r app. We are not in the position to disobey Apple on this issue. So you will see an update of G***R****r app available in iTunes very soon. Please note that once you update your copy of G***R****r, you will not be able to use USB file transfer with G***R****r any more. So please decide for yourself - if USB file transfer is really important to you, AVOID UPDATING G***R****r in the future!!!. The latest version of G***R****r that will allow USB file transfer is v.2.3. Once you update it to ANY later version, you will loose the ability to use USB file transfer with G***R****r, probably forever. We're truly sorry about this, we believe that USB file transfer feature makes everybody's life much easier. But it's Apple who sets up rules, not us, and we must follow those rules.

Best regards,
Y**i S*****f
G***.****e Support Team

THEY ENCOURAGE IT!!!

Peace

Clearly 100,000 apps is meant more as a "something for everyone" statement more than an "everything for you" statement. Car companies have multiple car models. I doubt you will ever drive/own every model of Toyota, but they often talk about their large lineup because they have 'something for everyone" That said, about 90% (or more) of those 100,000 apps are crap anyway.

I disagree. Most of my favorite and most useful apps are actually free. I am sure many people will agree to that.

i think all apps should require a 'trial' period first. i hate when i spend $$ on an app only to delete it 5 minutes later....

Well, I guess that even the most pathetic drooling tards can only have so many fart sound apps on their phone!
I have only purchased 2 apps from the app store since it launched, I have a ton of free ones stored up in my iTunes, but only about 1/3 of them are actually currently installed on my phone.

I also know of quite a a few of those 100K apps that are totally outdated and obviously abandoned by the creator... thus rendering them useless and shouldn't be counted! Thanks to jailbreaking, I was actually able to update and modify some of those apps myself, and make them usable again... but obviously just for myself!
