Hey...T-Mobile wins lol! they dont ever sue anyone!

I'm here to tell you that map may not be exact but I have AT&T and most of my colleagues have Verizon and many times I have no signal and they do. Most always they have 3G and I don't.
We just got 3G in Clarksville, TN I have a Clarksville address and no 3G. I have a 3G iPhone never get to use the 3G speed. So that map is more accurate then not.
Let AT&T sue and if they lose maybe they will put up more 3G towers to improve their service.
I had Sprint they were cheaper and better than AT&T. I have never had Verizon but if they get the iPhone I am dropping AT&T like a hot Potato. Even if Verizon has terrible customer service I experience Verizon cell signal with friends around me and that is all I care about.8 gig iPhone Edge 2G (first day iPhone): UNLKD/JB using bootneuter and blackra1n.
8 gig iPhone 3G (first day iPhone): UNLKD/JB using Whited00r CFW
16 gig iPhone 3GS (new bootrom): UNLKD/JB using ultrasn0w/limera1n.
16 gig Wifi iPad first day iPad JB using greenpois0n.
32 gig Wifi/3G iPad first day iPad UNLKD/JB using greenpois0n.

the commercial CLEARLY says 3G COVERAGE... nothing about voice or data services. Yes it does make them look bad, but again it says 3G coverage. I don't think AT&T has a strong case here.
11-04-2009, 08:13 AM #48
The commercial clearly says 3g coverage. I use ATT and I will still be the first to admit that their 3g coverage is sparce and way worse than verizon. If they put Iphone on Verizon I will switch immediatly. ATT has no leg to stand on in this issue, they simply cant compete with Verizon on 3g coverage.

It's pretty sad to think about how AT&T wants to start rolling out the updated 3G network for use with the 3Gs iPhone while most of the country (area not population since I know most densely populated areas have 3G coverage) is without. I fully support Verizon in the commercial, all they are doing is stating facts, there is no slander or lying. If I drive 10 miles outside the city I live in (I work 90 miles away with no service at all) I lose my 3G. I honestly think that AT&T was the worst choice for Apple. If I could still use T-Mobile with all the functionality on my 3Gs I would've never left and transferred to AT&T. I will defend Apple to the end because I love my phone but I think they should drop the exclusivity ?sp? and go the way that RIM does, sales will increase and prices on plans and phones would most likely drop.

Useless ads. Isn't this why we have TIVO and popup blocker?
and BTW before someone says it, I understand why ads are made but I don't want to waste my time looking at them if I have the option not to."To unpathed waters, undreamed shores." -- William Shakespeare

I am going to say that At&t wouldn't be upset if this was not true. I have always been happy with At&t until this year in Florida. Being VERY honest here I am getting drop calls, drop calls, drop calls, static, static, static. Its just awful where I live down here. I called At&t and complained about their service down here and this month they did give me $30.00 off my bill (which was nice of them but had to complain twice before they did it) and they told me that there is a new tower being put up in Jan.
However Verizons map does look much better and we all know they do have better coverage. But remember Verizon turned down the iPhone.
11-04-2009, 09:26 AM #53
Fact of the matter is, ALL of Verizon's phones are 3G. They have been using 3G for many many years now. But their 3G is about half the speed of AT&T's.
And yes, AT&T is the leader in smartphones.

i'm a current ATT member, and HOPE that ATT loses this battle. It's such ******** that ATT advertises to be the leading cell phone company, and sole distributor for the iPhone, yet has such spotty 3G coverage. I'm so tired of leaving the city limits and automatically downgraded to Edge. They need to get their act together and get more 3g towers up, because this map is DEFINITELY NOT misrepresenting. It clearly says 3G coverage, not data coverage in general
11-04-2009, 10:34 AM #55
Agreed i wonder if in the lawsuit filled att put verizon tricked ppl cuz there to dumb to know what 3g is.Yeah, you'll be the coolest person in the room when you pull one out and show it around, but that gets old fast when three other people have them and one person somehow has one that glows in the dark.

All I have to say is I drive all over the western US this past summer with my iphone and with a friend's verizon phone and, based on the map in that ad, verizon doesn't even have the coverage they claim they have with 3G network.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Piss off ATT, there's a lawsuit for that
11-04-2009, 11:38 AM #58
instead of spending money on the lawsuit, just add more 3g towers sheesh. i too get peeved at the spotty 3g coverage (colorado). not enough to ditch my iphone and go back to verizon. overal i rarely drop calls or have issues but i sure would love to have better 3g coverage!

You all who claim this map is deceptive shouldn't be owning mobile phones in the first place because if it's this easy to deceive you then you're clearly not capable of understanding the AT&T contract you agreed to when purchasing service.
