You shouldn't have a problem with WiFi.

As for if it needs plugging in each time you boot depends on which iBoot you have - what week number is your phone?

No, your serial number - the 3rd digit is the year (so should be 9) and the 4th and 5th digit are the week number.

Then, unfortunatly, you do have the new iBoot so will have to connect to your computer every time you reboot.

So why exactly do you need to connect to computer for each reboot? I guess I'm asking what do I need to do each time I reboot when it's plugged in? Re-jailbreak?

It is because the new iBoot has a different check on the firmware loaded than older iBoots. When you jailbreak it injects the code in a certain way. The new iBoot checks how the firmware is started and thus does not boot properly because the method used right now of booting jailbroken firmware is not broken yet.

Please correct me if I am off on this, Confucious.

Ok. Well I just need to know what to do if I need to reboot. Is it as simple as plugging the iphone into the computer and then pressing power button? Or is there more involved?

If you need to reboot just rerun blackra1n from the computer you use like you did the first time. All progams you had before, such as Cydia items, should still be there.

Not quite right. The checks on FW are something diferent which can be worked round (by letting Cydia grab the necessary files) but the reason the JB is now tethered is because Apple finally blocked the well documented 24Kpwn exploit.
See Wiki article for more details.

Well did it last night and it went smooth. I had zero issues. J/B on w7 64bit, 3GS 3.1.2. Super fast too, seriously seemed like it took 10 seconds!
