Awesome!! This is great news. My current 3G's ultrasn0w unlock doesn't work anymore and I've tried everything I can to fix the on and off again signal to no avail but I've got another 3G on 5.09 bootloader and 5.11.07 baseband that's locked. I hope blacksn0w will work on this one!

i understand how you feel that's why i switched to at&t. there's no point in owning an iPhone 3g or 3GS if you can't use the 3G...it's like having a ZR1 Corvette @ 630Horsepower and it's been governed down to 100horsepower and only has a max speed of 115mph...what's the point in having it?!!! But anywho this is wonderful news because i lost my chance of unlock when my first 3GS broke...the replacement i got came with 3.1 on 5.11 soo yeah this is GREAAT NEWS no matter how old it is! Thanks GEOHOT! I WILL DEFINITELY CONTRIBUTE TO YOU!
