Rock Band for iPhone
[ame=http://vimeo.com/6968527]Rock Band for iPhone sneak peek on Vimeo[/ame]
video via IntoMobile
You knew it was coming, now it's here: Rock Band for the iPhone was released on iTunes -- though as far as I know at this writing, in the US only. 20 tracks (15 built-in, 5 more available after you complete the World Tour, listed after the jump) are included for the somewhat portly $9.99 App Store price, with more coming via in-app purchasing.
The game has single-player and multi-player (up to 4 via Bluetooth) mode, and also has integrated Facebook Connect so you can invite your social-networking friends to jam. Players choose between lead guitar, vocals, bass and drums, tapping to both hit the right notes: singing into your iPhone is neither supported nor, one hastens to add, cool.
Rock Band is clearly looking to unseat Tap Tap Revenge, who pushed out onto the stage first with in-app purchasing of new tracks. Whether graphics and big-name status is enough to do the job will remain to be seen.
Rock Band for iPhone is available for $9.99 from the iTunes App Store and includes the following tracks:
- Attack – 30 Seconds To Mars
- Girls Not Grey – AFI
- Move Along – All American Rejects
- Sabotage – Beastie Boys
- All The Small Things – Blink-182
- Hanging on the Telephone – Blondie
- Learn To Fly – Foo Fighters
- Everlong – Foo Fighters
- Bad to The Bone – George Thorogood & the Destroyers
- Hymn 43 – Jethro Tull
- Bad Reputation – Joan Jett
- Simple Man – Lynryd Skynryd
- Ace of Spades ‘08 – Mötorhead
- Debaser – Pixies
- Ladybug – Presidents of The United States of America
- Give It All – Rise Against
- Lazy Eye – Silversun Pick Ups
- Cherub Rock – Smashing Pumpkins
- Take The Money and Run – Steve Miller Band
- We Got The Beat – The Go Go’s

Anyone from here care to give an indepth review?
I dont trust the ones listed in the App store. Always believe the first 100 or so were left by the developers themselves.

20 songs for $10 bucks seems like a lot, but people will probably get it just for the name.
Cherub Rock - Impossible??? - I just dominated the drums!!
Just need to get some real music like Alice, Rage or Nirvana!
Stealth, hop on you Cessna and fly down to Nashville so we can go Bluetooth on it. Hope your 6.5 is getting close
I thought my carrier was bad til I got a new web host

Never got the popularity of games like this and DDR on the phone. I guess the less physical activity we have to do the better? Would have been great to incorporate actual singing instead of tapping your finger. They should have just left vocals out IMO.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

The song list is bad, and from the few minutes I played, an optional landscape mode would've improved the gameplay a lot, so that your fingers don't get all cluttered and accidentally hit the wrong notes.
Not worth the $9.99, but cool if you can get it by other means, like from a friend or a iTunes gift card.

the proliferation of the equivalent to crack for yet another platform... ugh...
This is getting a lil' ridiculous...

I never got into Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Something about playing a fake guitar just wouldn't do it for me.
But my roommates would love this.
