You don't think android will ever have a successful app store? Android is expected to jump apple in market share in a few years.

Maybe I'm lucky but CoverFlow works fantastic for me, I've never had it respond slowly or crash or anything. The only problem I have with it is that iTunes won't find album art for music they don't sell, or at least I don't know how to make it do that, and my album art on some albums isn't the same size as the others iTunes finds. Shake to undo doesn't bother me because I've never ever tried it! Spotlight is great to me, it's a really great feature because I can quickly search mail and other apps without opening them. So far there isn't really anything I want to disable, but I do wish I could hide all the springboard icons because I like having just my icons on the dock and that's it. Thankfully Dock, written by NateTrue still works in 3.0 and if it keeps working I'll definitely still use it. Though the ability to create folders to put different apps into has been lost and you have to modify the plist to have a new folder in the options. Winterboard can keep the iPhone from crashing into an endless reboot because of the stupid themeing changes I make all the time, and it's saved my *** alot!

One thing to add to my list of stupid things Apple blocks is the 5 icon dock. Why can I not have more than four things in my dock? It makes no sense. I can see it from a fluid theme with only four icons to a row everywhere else, but I'd still like to do it.

Years ago it was Apple stuck into developing "features" before releasing their product and it was by doing just the opposite that Microsoft gained the larger segment in the marketplace, though MS never followed with developing requested features. Now, with the iPhone, Apple is gaining a larger segment of the marketplace by adding features after releases gain a foothold in the marketplace, a lesson well learned from MS. Competition is great for innovation but I seriously doubt there's an upcoming device ready to "de-throne" the iPhone at it's class level. Just saying...

Well I'm glad said features are working for you, they still force it upon others that have 0 use for it. Shake to undo just gets in the way when I jog and Spotlight is just in the way.

    Lovely

I wasn't aware you couldn't disable shake to undo because I don't use it. I think I'd look funny shaking my phone like a madman trying to undo something. I do wish I could get rid of the NO SERVICE thing on the top of my phones top bar. THAT would make me more happy than anything, but that's not Apples fault.

I mean that some of the places that Verizon has 3G coverage very few people will actually need it. I don't drive through Kansas often. Truckers and farmers might need 3G, but those Verizon 3G commercials focus on the city where most people have 3G service pretty much everywhere. If 3G is almost everywhere you are going to be, 3G maps don't matter for you.
BTW: You sound like someone how needs 3G service where you spend a lot of time so you would be a candidate for the map. Me having 3G everywhere except my school's science building's basement, the map means nothing to me.

True to a point, but those commercials don't say anything about cities. They tout their coverage area all over the country, and that's the point. I don't live anywhere near a farmer or a route where trucks drive long distances with nothing to look at. I live near a Marine Corps Air Station and you have to drive over an hour to get to a large city, keywords large city, to get 3G service. And what service I do get is really crappy, 2 bars max in most places and repeated dropped calls and they have told me a number of times that service is not guaranteed indoors or in vehicles. That's unacceptable to me, especially when the competition works fantastic in the exact same area. If Verizon can do it, then the company that is AT&T bragging about how fast their 3G service is can sure as hell do it. I would have loved to have even EDGE service traveling from El Paso through Arizona and New Mexico on trips from Atlanta to San Diego the four times I did over a period of four frickin years. But AT&T can't even get service there much less 3G. THAT is what Verizon is going on about.

They brag about having fast service, but you can't get it anywhere but MAJOR cities and very few select areas. They are have fallen way behind and all the money they are raking in needs to be spent expanding their coverage. Right now it's too little too late and they need to fess up to providing subpar services instead of trying to convice people they provide superior phone service than the competition.

its apple doesn't mean its better.

"I'm not interested in android, just give me an iPhone."
-Ignorance at its best. I thought apple fans always attack others because they lower their expectations when they want a WM/Android/WebOS phone...
the iPhone is supposed to be the supposedly "best phone ever".

and you guys are just gonna take whatever apple gives you, and praise it as the best? Apple wins, and you lose. Congrats for making Apple feel like they don't need to do anything more cuz of your stubbornness!
If that were the case, people wouldn't be jailbreaking their iPhone's since they don't need to do anything.

Apple is the #1 company with ad attacks its only a matter of time before people start attacking apple. I use AT&T but I do like Verizon because they offer Verizon Fois on the east coast which imo needs to be moved into more areas lol.

ITT: a bunch of apple fanboys getting their panties in a bunch over a Verizon ad.

I, for one, like Verizon. But I don't really care about ads attacking my precious iPhone.

I have an iPhone because I love the iPhone, not the service. I would love to love both my iPhone and my service, but such is life.

    Yawn.

    Try navigating Verizon's phone support.

Had them for ten months for cable/phone/internet. They allowed me out early from the contract b/c a) their drughead installer was pilfering people's homes (mine included, though I caught him in the act) and b) Verizon sucks horribly. They begged me to stay but man, doesn't it say a lot when they drop their $179 early cancelation fee?

Good luck to all you switchers. The device may very well be bug-free and great, but enjoy dealing with Verizon's suck *** service and no help on weekends.

I see what you mean. I'm from St. Louis and it has the best network with the fewest dropped calls (according to my friends, myself and AT&T). AT&T is good here because no one cares about St. Louis, but when AT&T was still SBC, they were (or parts were) based here. That's why I think my coverage rocks. I had 0-1 bars of EDGE in the friends basements and recently it went up to 4-5 of 3G! All my Verizon and Sprint friends still are screwed over.

Also, Verizons commercials (the 3G Dead Zone one that is) are in the cities according to the commercial. This Map one looks to be cities too.

I seen the add, today on TV and to be honest I agree with other people who say and rightfully so apple does this to MS everyday. Also when you look at the Iphone, BB storm, and all of the HTC products and Palm the only phone of the 3 that gives 100% complete freedom to innovate is the HTC products. And frankly if you look at everything the BB storm, palm pre, and the Iphone can do the HTC product line has been doing for years. What apple and RIM need to do is allow free development and the exchange of software. I say this as I own a HTC touch pro, Palm pre, BB storm, Iphone 8g 2g and a 16g 3gs.

I think it's great that everyone is quick to defend the iPhone and Apple from Verizon's attacks, but seriously. They listed a lot of things that are serious attributes missing from the iPhone. In fact there are quite a few more that I would have Verizon add to that list.

Some of the things that the iPhone is missing is ********.

Now the lack of a real keyboard, come on Verizon, that's the f***ing point.

Whoever said that a little criticism and competition hurt anyone? Besides I'm sure everyone would like to see Apple knocked down a few pegs and maybe implement some USEFUL features.
