blackra1n Released! Jailbreak 3.1.2 For All Devices

I'm totally bummed. I've been trying this all day and now have an unjailbroaken 3G. I have tired all the "fixes" out there. It seems that a good jailbreak wouldn't need "fixes". Maybe the DevTeam takes longer, but at least their stuff works before they put it out for the public.

Don't try this if you have a 3G. It doesn't work! I feel betrayed.

hell of a first post for me, but I'm gonna give this one more shot, then call it and roll un-jailbroke if it doesn't work again. At least 'til dev-team does their thing.

After HOURS I was finally able to jailbreak my 3g (3.1.2). The key to success (mine, anyway) was a series of strategic button presses during the install process.

But now some of my pre-installed apps don't work! This thing is so buggy!!

i'm trying to jailbrake my friend's phone, she has a 3G, she had the phone jailbrake, we just update to 3.1.2 but the BlackRa1n gets stuck on
the Itunes - Usb Plug Logo.. and the Program shows Running...
Any suggestions ?

read the previous 48 pages for tips..... sorry, thats all you can do mate.

I have a question, on the last edit of your post yesterday it said you had found a way to fix the issue with OpenSSH. I was just wondering how that is done? How can you fix the SSH problem if you can't access the phone via SSH without this fix? Is it possible with WinSCP? Please let me know, it would be greatly apreciated. Thanks again

OpenSSH is not required to run MobileTerminal ;-)

tried the download blackra1n running 3.1.2 os on 3g itunes 9.0 this did not do anything tried to make it rain said it was done no reboot happened had to restore twice any suggestions???

Ok uhhh, im having a problem, it dosnt seem that anyone else is having it? i guess. Ok so for all the people that are stuck on Running, Waiting for Phone, the plug in to itunes and all that other crap, Download BlackRa1n from blackra1n.com then click on the window logo... save on C: then right click it go click properties, then right at the buttom it should say Unblock... click it then dont put on the Run as Windows XP service pack 2.... that just made it worse for me and it makes me get stuck on the itunes logo (to plug it in and restore...) and now just Right click BlackRa1n and Make it Ra1n, Should say entering recovery then running (if u where stuck on that... There u go it should pass it now) then u will see the sign were it says Thx... donate and all that. now u see some guys face (the guy that made it i forgot his name ) then it will take a few seconds mabye 1 min... and then here is my problem my ipod 2G 3.1.2 just shuts off!!!! i dont know what to do... (mabye people dont want to listen to me because im having a problem and they dont want to mess up like me... well anyways it might be my itunes... my computer or even my ipod im not sure....) I restored it about like 9 times so far... and no result after that thats the farthest i got.... someone help please!

i've used this on 3 3gs phones.. all 3.1.2 per the instruction and only had an issue on the first (mine). When i installed cydia and icy it did the redsnow error where they corrupt each other. Install cydia THEN icy and you wont have a problem.

Ok so I've read through all 47 pages of this thread and have tried everything else that everyone has posted. Still no luck for me. I'm on a Vista machine 32bit and I have an iPhone 3G 8G. The odd thing is that I've gotten it to seem like it went through but after the phone rebooted I never had the blackra1n icon on the phone. Anyone have any ideas or will I just have to keep trying? I spent all day yesterday trying to jb my phone. =(

I'm going to wait for the DEV team to come out with theirs.. I tried on 3 phones. Worked on 2. Of course mine was not one of the 2. The other 2 people were complaining though about it not working so good with the apps.

if blackrain is stalling on the "running" screen, and your phone on the itunes/usb screen, hold the power and home buttons to hard reset it, a box should pop up from blackrain saying jailbreak will finish when your phone reboots, leave that open, when the apple logo reappears on your phone, close blackrain, reopen blackrain, wait about 5 seconds and click make it rain again. Thats what worked for me, I had to try about 20 times though....hope it works for you.

This is really annoying! I appreciate the effort and all, but a lot of people just got hozed buy this program. I've tried it on two different XP machines and Vista and none of them work. I think some beta testing should have been done before this was released to the public. There are just too many people with issues for it not to have been picked up on.

Really not happy with my non-jailbroken 3g on 3.1.2 now.
