How could you even compare an iPhone that is basically a computer to a BB! Honestly I don't get why people use BB, what does it offer that an iPhone can't do??? PLEASE TELL ME! Beside the keyboard which i find tacky and bulky looking. There was a comment saying that iPhone can't email or communicate as good as BB. You must be kidding "son" iPhone can do anything what a BB can't do! People who doesnt like the iPhone are people who doesnt know how to use one! Its too high tech for an average person to use thats why they perfer the BB cause its so "BASIC"

I had a blackberry curve and I def prefer the iphone hell i got rid of my curve to be on an iphone 2g. The browsing capabilities were crap on the curve, I liked my curve but it does not beat the iphone in any way. The only thing that it did that i miss is i could assign any song (no matter how long the song was) as a ringtone not this 30 second crap! And you dont have to go through the headache of converting and chopping ur song up to make it work properly. I love my new iphone 3gs! Just waiting for the out of box jailbreak 3.1 to be released by Geohot.

Actually, that would have apple making 10 steps back, rather than 3 steps forward. Everyone says the physical keyboard, but a few months ago, it was "If they just made SMS in landscape mode..."

Trust me, apple knows more than the average consumer here. I'm sure that there is a whole crew of people out there begging apple to put trackballs on mac book pro's, but dont hold your breath!

APPLE WILL NEVER ADD A KEYBOARD! POINT BLANK!

They set the standard on touchscreens in cellphones. Seriously, everyone compares the touchscreen in an iphone to whatever phone the pick up, let it be the G1, mytouch, prada, your first thing in your mind is "The iPhone touch is better"

    Why give that up?

If Apple wants to appeal to business people, there's really only a few changes they need to make, including:

-Access to a "flash drive" sector to store and transfer files over USB/Bluetooth
-Ability to save, view, and edit email attachments with native applications
-Some form of more physical keyboard (maybe a slide-out touch screen piezo keyboard with raised key spots)

blackberry makes everything more difficult than it should be. 12 steps to send an sms? Apple simplified everything and put it on a powerful user friendly platform. Apple kills RIM

I dont get why people are saying it needs a keyboard. Thats a main selling point that apple has(Apples phone is glass capacitive).
What apple needs to do is get their heads out of their ***** and stop locking down the damn firmware. Stop giving IT's a headache just to accommodate their phone.
But as long as Jobs is in, it'll never be that way.

When I've been asked about BB vs. iPhone, I've said the iPhone is a multimedia machine. And if you text a lot, BB's physical KB is better. Can you imagine AT&T's reaction if that paradigm shift occurred and iPhones would be replacing BBs?

But according to the study, the iphone is now preferred to the balckberry. So what's the point in integreting a keyboard into the iphone?

I owned two Palm Treo's prior to my first iPhone in 2007. Loved the Treo & having a physical keyboard, BUT I would never go back!

I actually just gave the BB Tour 9630 a shot 2 days ago. Got it, Unlocked it, put my At&t SIM card in it and about 2 days later I was back on my beloved 3G[S]. I'll give you this , maybe typing and texting on the bb friendlier but you just can't compare everything else the iphone can do. I felt naked without my 3G[s].

It's really simple why everybody keeps flopping..... The iPhone could be SO MUCH better than the BB at business and everything else IF Apple would let the damn thing come out of the closet and play open and free like the BB.

The same reason why the iPhone will NEVER be better than the BB at business is the same reason I never dated a girl named Amanda in high school that I would have walked on water for...... "man she is all that and then some, but her PARENTS REALLY SUCK".

Until Apple releases the iphone to go play in the big world without holding daddy's hand it isn't going to get out form under the horrible parents syndrome with Apple guarding it at every corner and spoiling the free run fun of all the things it COULD be doing, but isn't.

The BB has long since grown up, left the nest, and played int he real world without daddy for a long time doing what it wants and what it's users want without so many effin restrictions the parents have put on it to keep it safe. (and you of course, after all the iphone can destroy the world through a cell tower OH MY!!).

Thank god I don't need business solutions and only have this thing to play with because I loves me some iphone.

I have both an iPhone and Crackberry. iPhone for me, Crackberry assigned from work. If I had a choice it would be iPhone only. What the iPhone lacks can be fixed via appstore/cydia. Personally the full hard keyboard on the blackberry isn't enough and their lame attempt at an app store is a big sign they know the iPhone is stealing away their customers.

well i have seen but forget what company had it ( actually a post here on mmi)but there was a collapsable keyboard to place overtop for ppl to become more friendly with the iphone keyboard.

but anyways a bunch of my friends. one owns his own pizza shop, another owns a landscaping business, and the other is a high level banker for wachovia bank all use iphones for fun and for business, i think people count out all the uses for this phone and the apps you can download, i have many conversations with them about the phone and they all say that it helps them quite well.(but there all afraid to jailbreak, pussies)!

IPhone is by far the best. It's nor fair for the BB to be compared to the iPhone. Different leagues and worlds apart!!

I switched from BB to iPhone and haven't looked back. But the BB does have a number of advantages for business people. As mentioned several times in this thread, the physical keyboard is one (it may not be important to you, but it is to many people). Then there's the message indicator light on the BB that tells you when you have new messages without activating the display. Calendaring doesn't suck with the BB. Here's a novel idea, you can actually attach files to emails with the BB. It support media cards. There's quick text macros for easily adding certain strings using simple character combinations. Not only is battery life better with the BB, but it's also removable. You're not tied to AT&T with a BB.

Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is still my favorite, but some of you guys have lost your objectivity.
