iTunes 9.0.1 Now available
iTunes 9.0.1 is now available for download.

Will not affect Jailbreaking .iTunes 9.0.1 provides a number of important bug fixes, including:
• Resolves issues browsing the iTunes Store.
• Addresses a performance issue where iTunes may become unresponsive.
• Fixes a problem where iTunes may unexpectedly quit.
• Fixes a problem syncing Podcasts in playlists to iPod or iPhone.
• Fixes a problem sorting albums with multiple discs.
• Addresses an issue with the Zoom button not switching to Mini Player.
• Improves application syncing for iPod touch and iPhone.
• Genius is now automatically updated to show Genius Mixes.
iTunes 9 comes with many new features and improvements, including:
• An improved look and feel, including a new Column Browser for easily browsing your artists or albums, movies, TV shows, and more.
• iTunes Store has a brand new look, with improved navigation for quick and easy exploration.
• iTunes LP and iTunes Extras create unique experiences that feature exclusive interviews, videos, photos, and more — available with select album and movie purchases on the iTunes Store.
• Home Sharing helps you manage your family's iTunes collection between computers in your home. iTunes can automatically transfer new purchases, or you can choose just the items you want.
• Genius Mixes are created for you by iTunes and play songs from your library that go great together.
• iPod and iPhone syncing now allows you to organize your iPhone and iPod touch home screens directly in iTunes. Syncing is now also more flexible, allowing you to sync individual artists, genres, or TV show and Podcast episodes.
• iTunes U items are now organized into their own section in your iTunes library.
• Sync with iPod nano (5th generation), iPod classic (Fall 2009), and iPod touch (Fall 2009).
• iTunes 9 also includes many other improvements, such as HE-AAC encoding and playback, more flexibility with Smart Playlists rules, simpler organization of your media files inside an iTunes Media folder, and more.Last edited by Melech518; 09-22-2009 at 05:55 PM.

Not a major firmware update, seems to be just iTunes update. Shouldn't be a problem for jailbroken phones but I guess we won't know 100% for sure until someone tries it.

Lol, I've tried it, it's fine, stop being paranoid!
Everything's working normally.

I was actually first, you just look foolish

Enough with the 1st posts please...they are ridiculous and serve no purpose.
On a separate note, this update does not affect anything. But whenever a new update is released, everyone should be weary until it is tested. The reason we post when updates are released is so people are aware of things that could or could not affect their iPhone usage. It is not paranoia, it is exercising caution

Lol but it's fun to say first and see how many people it annoys, it's actually the first person to reply.
Yeh but I doubt Apple will do anything within iTunes that will affect jailbreaking, they mainly focus on firmware and iPhone hardware, having said that, Apple probably will do something in the next update to iTunes XD

did this enable MMS for anyone who didn't have it before? I am just wondering because if I remember correctly when MMS was announce at the Apple event they said it would come in an iTunes update?
Always remember that you are unique....just like everyone else.

8.2 affected jailbreaking.
8.2.1 affected jailbreaking on 3GS.
Don't say iTunes doesn't affect jailbreaking, it does.
Just not usually if you're already jailbroken.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

i think that an upgrade is an upgrade. jailbreaking is cool, but if i can get a legit copy of good software (without bugs or waiting for the DEV team to jailbreak)than its a worthy trade-off.

Also, why does every goshdarn thread have to have an ANNOYING fight about posting #1 or First. Seriously, if everybody would just shut the heck up about it, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Firmware 3.1 officially enables MMS on the iPhone. AT&T just have to get rid of the MMS opt-out in all iPhone text messaging plans and thats whats going official on the 25th

Oddly enough, I never had MMS working, updated to 3.1 last week and MMS "magically" started working on Monday. Updated to iTunes 9.01 last night, all seems smooth.
