Thread: Get MMS on your iPhone TODAY

I wrote a guide myself on the Forum letting people know the reason why it wouldn't work and you get the red exclamation point..
You need to SIM swap with another AT&T phone that has MMS support, make a couple of phone calls to your voicemail or whatever number.. Then login on AT&T website, you'll see the phone you switched with icon on your line..
Click on "Manage Your Features" and switch from the "iPhone Text Messaing" plan to the "Text Messaging" plan.. Same price and all, save your settings and you don't even have to restart your phone.. Worked for 8 phones I did already..

The guides are the same, but the carrier file listed in this post is different than the other threads. Maybe you should read before bashing the post.... And I'm on 3.1 on a 3gs and this carrier doesn't have a visual voicmail field in settings and mine is working fine.

You don't need to do that with this... AT&T has activated mms on most peoples accounts... All you have to do is download the carrier file listed in the OP and manually install it to your phone... You don't need to change your plan to a non iPhone plan or any of that crap either... If it doesn't work for you then you might be one of the few that they just haven't modified your account yet... Even if you've tried this before and had no luck try it now with the new carrier file... AT&T has just turned it on within the past week or so in some areas that didn't have it before

And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

He could try - but since 3.1 needs signed ipcc I really don't believe it will work.
But I could be wrong....He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

3.1 requires signed ipcc? Did not know that. (Since I've been a good boy and held off on upgrading).
I dug through the IPCC, and noticed that the creator took out all of the keys that allow editing of things, except for the mms part. And the tethering URL is for o2, not AT&T.Last edited by Imahottguy; 09-18-2009 at 09:29 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

This whole thing is frustrating, i mean you call into ATT and they just play dumb, its retarded, so over this.... I've tried EVERY way possible starting way back from the first method and i have gotten no where... I hate failure... **walks away with head down**

did you download the carrier listed in the OP .. its different than all the other ones floating around.... it doesnt have the setting for visual voicemail in cellular data.. it only has data and MMS maybe you used the old 5.0 carrier that was floating around for ever...
[quote=Imahottguy;4956802]Then perhaps you should edit the ipcc yourself, it's not hard. And this IS the same as any other guide out there, it's just spilled out to the 'news' section.[/QUOTEi never said the method to to this wasnt the same... i said the carrier file linked to DL in the OP is different than the ones listed before... this carrier is 5.1 not 5.0... and one other difference, this actually WORKS!!

I always assumed that once you had an option other than "iphone text messaging" you'd have mms.
