I just put my SIM into my old RAZR V3 and it shows "My Number Is XXXXXXXXXX" and then a quick pop-up says "Registering," then the phone reboots. This will loop until I remove the phone from the charger; phone's been without power since I got my 3G last september.
Thoughts?
[EDIT] Oh, and when I go to send a message with something typed into the Subject field, it fails, long before an image would fail to send; it's almost immediately.
Sorry...didn't realize you could disable the Subject line; found out after digging through Settings for a bit.Last edited by Nintendo Tim; 09-16-2009 at 07:00 PM.

i've never even heard of this method and it can't be that old since it supports iTunes 9. But i did know of the carrier update file. I had already downloaded iTunes 8.2.10 and updated my 3GS with the carrier file. I left that verison of iTunes on my windows bootcamp partition.
There's no reason for people to be rude and say he's posting old news since some people might not have heard of this method with terminal...like me. So if you've already heard of this method than shut your *** up and ignore the thread..

I'm not getting the "Celullar Data Network" option in my settings when I reboot the phone.
It'd be awesome if there were directions for us Windows users instead of just Mac.

I did the terminal command. I went to do the carrier update, but since I have not updated to 3.1 yet, my button in iTunes says "Update" instead of "Check for Update." When I opt-click the "Update" button, I can navigate to the ippc file in my downloads, but it will not let me choose it. It is grey'd out. Any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance
Jon

Windows 2000/XP/Vista (32-bit):
1. Go to Start -> Run
2. Type in "command" and hit enter
3. Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up: "C: \Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
4. Hit enter
Windows XP/Vista (64-bit):
1. Go to Start -> Run
2. Type in "command" and hit enter
3. Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up: "C: \Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
4. Hit enter
Then follow the rest of the original tutorial.
EDIT: I put a space between ": \" because if you don't, the forum turns it into a smiley, lol. ->

Just downloaded the carrier settings and applied it. Didnt have to do anything except update the carrier settings in Win Vista running iTunes 8.2.010. Worked perfectly.
