I'm having a heck of a time with Pwnage Tool 3.1 crashing consistently at the step where it searches for the firmware. Anybody else having this problem?

question about 3.1. Isn't this the update that was supposed to include MMS? I know AT&T is gradually giving users access, but where is the camera button in the message app? I don't see anything on how to send MMS. info please.

Mine worked fine.

But you can always just browse for the firmware...

You'll need a carrier update file.

Also the modified firmware file for the 3G from the first page won't restore properly in iTunes. I press 'alt' when I click on the Restore button and choose the modded file it starts and then about 3 seconds later it gives error 1600. Any ideas? I'm really not having muck with this jailbreak.

hey flounderasu, yeah the button to browse doesn't work which is strange because the Log button at the top works but the Back arrow and Exit button don't work either.

I updated to 3.1 using custom firmware and pwangetool 3.1 had no problems installed activatemms2g and rebooted now its stuck on the pineapple! i cant seem to get it back into DFU mode anybody ?

Download Rock Your Phone app for mac....this will force it to boot. Then delete whatever you last installed

I would do a complete uninstall and then reinstall.

Your phone needs to be in recovery mode before you can opt to restore in itunes. the 1600 error is caused by an incompatible firmware. Since iTunes doesnt want you to use anything other that their 3.1, you will need to be in recovery mode or DFU mode to get around this

reported by several people that actvatemms2g isn't working with the 3.1 firmware.
Try a hard reboot holding power and home, if no luck try this.
Step 1. Turn off iPhone
Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that it detects iPhone in restore/recovery mode.

Alternative Method:
Step 1. Connect iPhone to USB then listen to the sound when it connects and disconnects.
Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.
Step 3. Wait until you hear another sound then release home button.

Your favorite Apple, iPhone, iPad, iOS, Jailbreak, and Cydia site.
