Kally, I had similar trouble when I was jbing my 3gs for the second time. You probably don't have the same problem though because mine was more of a here's your sign thing. Anyway I had the 3.0 firmware BUT it was for the 3g phone. It took me a while before I realized what the problem was, but it makes a huge difference, obviously. Again, probably not your issue but I thought I'd mention it. By the way, GO DEV TEAM!!!!

THANK GOD!!! I bought the factory unlocked 3GS. All I care is for JB So I can change my APN.

An update in cydia screwed up my iPhone 3GS and it got stuck at the apple logo. Tried everything to restore to 3.0 or 3.0.1 but it did not work. Now I have to update to 3.1...let's hope there is a jailbreak soon.

People have been warned time and time again. If you want to unlock do NOT upgrade to 3.1

I'm not sure what else can be done.

People do update and then moan that they can't upgrade.

It is quite simple, if you want to Unlock - wait until the Dev Team tell you it is safe and how to do it.

I tried it on Friday night and that was what I was getting but I will try it again - can you send me a link to a good link for the 3.0? I was also using the redsnOw 8.

Joe997us - what did you do to get the 3.0 firmware that worked with the 3Gs? Can you give me a hint of what I need to do??

You can tell im a noob as my post count is low but these other new people who have less than I, for shame in you for not reading everything first before you "messed up" and upgraded your phone. I and other are doing the correct thing and waiting for the dev team. I just wish I knew how to get the files that may be needed in the future. I have my ECID but I dont have the other two files. Also its too late for me to get them as I would have to restore to 3.1 for the grabber to work. Least from my understanding. I was almost contimplating doing it but I fought the urge.

If you have a 3GS you can not restore to anything other than 3.1 at the moment.

I dont think that will work for kally. As it has been stated by others many many times. 3gs is unable to restore to anything lower than 3.1 not nice to give false hopes to someone

I have not upgraded yet, but I can't get MMS to work for me with 3.0.1 Jailborken.. Idea's on how to get it to work without updating to 3.1??

waiting 11 days is fine, but i don't want to be out of luck if that update screws my chances to jailbreak it again.... Wanted to know how they did it reguardless....

MuscleNerd worth repeating to nervous 3GS owners: "once JB, always JB" even w/o signed files. Unless you update to official IPSWs.

yes any currently JB 3GS will be able to update to custom 3.1 and retain the unlock (but please be patient for tools for this)
