hey guys, i bringing my 3G to the apple store tonight for a replacement my battery has gotten rally bad. if they give me a replacement what are the chances that it will have this 3.1 update? I know how to downgrade and to jailbreak it but i know to unlock it you can't downgrade the base band.

09-09-2009, 01:32 PM #48No issues with 9.0/3.1 on non-jb 3G
I have updated my iTunes to 9.0 and my un-jailbroken 3G to 3.1 without any problems. Lengthy time while it re-read my music library (large) and what seemed like the longest re-load time ever for the phone firmware, but all is OK. No issues sync'ing.

Via MuscleNerd's Twitter:
3G+3GS unlockers..you must not update to official 3.1! unlock needs pre-hacked 3.1 with 04.26.08

This means that if you update, your baseband WILL get updated and you WILL LOSE your unlock.
There is no hack for new baseband, so you will be stuck.
Just another useless warning that many will choose to ignore, then proceed to fill msg boards everywhere with complaints as a result of their impatience. Let's do some cognitive behavior modification by not responding or even acknowledging posts of these children.

The genius app thing is just a way for apple to have permission to look in phones for hacked apps. Sneaky little devils.Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning
