an at&t rep told me that u will get a text saying it's available and that u should sync with itunes to get the updated .ipc file, i doubt we have to worry about jailbreaking, it's just a carrier update....but it is about damn time!!!

AT&T said on their facebook page that the markets that werent getting the 850Mhz, would get more of the 1900Mhz upgrade.
"AT&T Yes, 850 is awesome and we are deploying it in hundreds of markets across our footprint. In areas where 850 MHz spectrum is unavailable for our use, we will deploy additional capacity in the 1,900 MHz spectrum band to boost overall network capacity. Watch this space for news about where 850 is launched. We launched NYC and Houston yesterday."Last edited by Limegrntaln; 09-03-2009 at 11:57 PM.

Lets see how much "iPhone" special rates do we have to cough up to at&t once they turn on MMS.

I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

I'm glad everybody see this as such a positive thing. All I can see is 3.1 and I have a 3G S. It's just going to be wrong if 3.1 kills all us jailbreakers with a GS just so everybody can have MMS.
I hope it's worth it.

while I agree, not every phone has the ability to send/recieve email, while just about every phone has the ability to send or recieve MMS. If you're sending a picture to show someone a house that they're supposed to meet you at (or something else like that), you're pretty much SOL without MMS. If you're just sending them a picture because they want it for their facebook or personal photo album or whatever, then email is just fine.
well, AFAIK, the dev team said that as long as you copy your iBEC and iBSS files, future jailbreaking shouldn't be an issue. So if I were you (or anyone else for that matter), I'd upgrade to a 3gs, if you haven't already, and create a backup copy those files ASAPLast edited by dr.stevil; 09-04-2009 at 06:14 AM.

That is pi*s your pants laughing there!
I've had it since day one from my 3g in March and even when I got my 3gs on a new number (The rep at the store unchecked MMS opt out and I did the Media net thing with another phone)
I made the mistake last week of putting my sim in a Blackberry and lost it all. I re did the media net thing and all is well again. I think because I'm on a family text plan they cant block it.

FYI-- Last night, MMS started working on my Jailbroken 3g. still working today. On the At&T network. Check funkyspacemonkey for the details. I would have sent the news to modmyi moderators, but I didn't know how. It worked with the patch from sinfuliphone but his repo/site is down right now. Just wanted to let everyone know. THIS IS GREAT!!!!!! FINALLY!!!

Wait! You can make phone calls with your iPhone and you have AT&T?!?! No way! How do I make it work... right now I have to use my locate payphone app and always carry around a roll of quarters.
